You’re out here at Pala Raceway doing some testing aboard a 450. Obviously you’re a 250 guy, so has the transition been tough for you or has it been fairly easy to become acquainted with the bigger bike?
Everything does take time, but I rode it last week and I even tested during the weekend off, so I’m putting in the necessary time to get used to the bike. Honestly, though, I felt comfortable on it right away. I think my style of riding suits a 450 really well, so as of right now, the plan for me is to get myself a little stronger. Yeah, it’s a lot different than a 250, but I enjoy the amount of power and I kind of feel like it’s a better version of a 250. But, yeah, I enjoy it.

The MXDN might be a tough place to debut, but when he gets on it permanently he is going to be awesome to watch.

Damn it ok go kick some Euro Ass Cooper ;-)
On the other hand, I think Martin will be an asset to the team in the coming years. He doesn't get flustered when things don't go his way, he just rides hard and comes from the back of the pack up to the podium in the laps he has to work with.
We've seen in the past few races that Webb occasionally gets flustered when he's pissed off. When he get's close, he wants to beat Marvin so bad because he's pissed off at the guy. A couple of times he's made mistakes. I think one was a moto at Unadilla and the other was at the Utah race. He'll probably figure out the mental part of it with experience.
My thinking was to let him race his 250 or put him on a bored 250F to meet the minimum MXGP class displacement rules; 270cc. Basically let him ride what he's been racing very successfully on. After all is STAR able to give him a similar setup as what JGR's developed over many, many years? And while Barcia has looked pretty good on the 450 this year, there's been alot of fast guys in the 450 class missing so he's naturally moved up in the standings. He's been on that bike many months to get to where he's at now. I question whether the YZ450F may still have "issues" for the fast guys and I also don't feel that the modern 250f's give up anything to the 450's on many tracks. While the 450's may jump out front at the start I think Webb's shown he's got the moves to get around rolling 450 roadblocks. Plus the tracks surely going to be get beat up which I think will favor a good 250 rider like Webb.
