So, since GuyB's roots are in BMX and I was there when he saw his first published moto photo of Mark Barnett published in a magazine, he'll let me indulge on a choice BMX ad(s) that many here will appreciate.

Can you name all these legends in the Oakley ad from 1980?...(there's also a certain some one mentioned in Vital a lot in that group)

And just for current events, I ran across this this cool ad with Eli To...errr JT from his early mountain bike days...Love that look! (sorta looks like some one we know huh)

Any more out there?

The only ones I recognize are Bob Haro on the far left, Harry Leary (sp?) in the back row next to the guy with the beard and (I believe) Kyle Fleming in the front row (JT pants).

Someone mentioned Jeff Bottema and Henderson, Toby was it? I see Haro, is that Bobby Woods of Robinson Racing Products( still have my Bobby Woods Replica in the attic), Jason Jenson of Torker I believe, Scot O.M. Briethaupt and Perry Kramer of SE Racing, Stompin Stu Thompson of Redline fame and is that Doug Davis (?)in front from Diamondback? Too long ago!!

OK, too easy. That's probably 83-84 so maybe 11?
I've posted this one before I think. How about this desert rat?

I'm surprised no one has made a comment of the John Tomac vs. Eli " look" ad.

Man, those two look alike....erie.

Definitely got the same look goin on. I love the text in that ad "lightweight chrome molly". That's an oxymoron these days.

Whenever I feel like making excused for my riding about my MTB being too heavy I remind myself that John Tomac would've been going 50% faster on a 50% heavier bike with worse suspension and brakes.

Legend!

That was the first name that popped into my head, but I realized after I read your post that it's Stu Thompson.

Love some of those other pics!

Pretty impressed with some of the BMX history knowledge here!

Here's another of the Hurricane putting it to "The OM of BMX"...

This isn't as retro as Bob hannah and Stu Thompson, but If you like BMX you will like this. http://digbmx.com/videos/bf-it-the-story-of-brian-foster Brian Foster is a true legend...

Brian Foster is a true legend, still has one of the most smooth and best styles at 40
That was a kickass documentary!

I live about a half mile way from the Chesapeake BMX super track in Severn, MD -- some weekends I just sit at the track and watch the kids race...so friggin' cool.

Since posts on the internet will outlive all of us I need to make a correction. The kid on the right is not Mouse McCoy, the kid on the left is Mike Corbett who also had the nickname "Mouse". The kid on the right is his brother who's name I don't know.
