Should be interesting. It might just be the angle, but that white fence and concrete block structure look a little too close for comfort. If someone gets stuffed there it could be ugly unless they put a bunch of tuff blocks in front of it.

Is there a reason why they changed it? High point had some really unique features and this new track doesn't look particularly exciting

I've been to every High Point National since 1986 and have never left early. I can honestly say that I'm not excited about the track changes and this is really the only time in my life that I am not really super excited about the race. I hope the racing Saturday proves me wrong. To me, the track looks way to sweeping fast to see amazing riders pull off amazing things. That is what I like more than the racing itself.

After the 4th Moto, I'll judge the track. Till then it's just a new track

Sounds like that track will play into E3's favor . It's a fast wide open track.

I recently heard someone describe National track design as a bit like thermonuclear war. Tracks have been one-upping each other with "big features" for a while now. There are still some of those here, but there's also lots of room to race, instead of just setting up to survive the next big section.

We have plenty of Supercross. I think it's okay to let motocross be motocross.

So much doom and gloom. I bet the track will produce excellent racing.

If the racing is half as good as what I watched at Thunder Valley, I'll be happy.

It sounds like Christian had a fracture, a full break in his hand less than 3 weeks ago, and he's already back racing a 450? That's pretty impressive. I sprained my thumb once and I couldn't hold on to my little 125 for a whole month.

I was just about to say the same thing, and hand injuries are painful! Tuff dude, hope he does well this weekend.

I quite like the layout of the track. I think it's better than the last couple of years. Opening the track up and having more sweeping turns and less jumps/whoops should be good for racing. I'm looking forward to it

Exactly my view, I want to see racers being able to focus on racing, not surviving. Last week was much about who dared to leave the gas on through the rough sections. And it was cleared they could not do this lap after lap because they would have crashed

I havent looked up the weather, but regardless, they will dig it deep and the track will be another deep rutted slot car track, just like every round. Its getting old IMO

It was his pinky knuckle , I am sure plenty tender but better than a thumb or index finger.

dont judge it...everyone hates on thunder valley for being rut city and it was the best racing we've seen so far...high point could turn out amazing

So it looks to be partly cloudy and high of 87 in Pittsburgh today and same tomorrow with a high of 89. It has been very humid lately and is currently 81% humidity so this is going to be a hot sticky one.

The track is the track but I do miss the big hip jump although that was a newer feature and not one of the iconic ones like Bradshaw Blvd. and the triple next to the start.

With the off cambers at High Point, leaving it un-ripped and hard would be cool for a change as the slot car stuff they keep doing is getting old.

They put significant effort in limiting the ruts on the straights at Thunder Valley. It allowed riders to move across track for the most part. I hope the same happens here.

The proof will be in the finished product tomorrow. If we have racing as close as it was last weekend, I'm fine with whatever design it is. I like racing more than I like obstacles.

I'm getting a little tired of watching guys just follow a rutt through a whole section. Maybe ripping it super deep everywhere isn't the best. I'm not saying hardpack is good, just well watered and a little firmer would give people better options to get more creative with lines. Maybe ?
