Congrats to Alldredge on landing a ride in 2017. Any thoughts on him going from a powerhouse like PC Kawi to a team like Barn Pros Racing, will this help or hurt a guy like Alldredge? Are they a full factory Yamaha bike, or factory support? The past few years it seems like Yamaha was behind quite a few 250 teams, to what extent I'm not sure. He's an Oregon native and the team is out of Washington, managed by Scot Stefy, a former haul ass pro from the PNW, so there's a little bit of a local connection there. Also, cool to see RJ working with the team.

Surprised nothing has been mentioned yet, it's not earth shattering of course, or huge news, but this was a can't miss kid a few years ago that some were saying would either retire or have to go full on privateer after his less than spectacular time at PC Kawi.

Good to see he got a ride. It's no PC, but it's a ride.

Glad he found a team. Met him at washougal and he actually gave the privateer I was helping a chest protector. Really stand up kid. Hoping the best for him. Go get em Chris

Yeah, I see it now, but honestly didn't before I posted, and I looked, not closely enough I guess. Sorry about that. I did change to the vital link.

Ya know, I can't speak for everyone but I go directly to the forum. Even Chrome dictates that I shall visit the forum before the homepage due to what I view most often. Maybe the site needs a redesign to include a news feed as a sidebar...

I think he meant behind them as in supporting them?

Yes, I believe he was trying to say that Yamaha has supported several 250 teams (besides Star and Rock River) over the past few years.

No worries, I meant Yamaha has supported quite a few 250 teams, in addition to Star, like cycle trader, 5150, Barn Pros, Blue Buffalo, Strikt, and 3D racing in 2016...behind was probably not a good word there. Yes, they've killed it these past few years.

I just wanna see the guy make it through the season without getting hurt. He's fast as hell, but damn he crashes a lot. Maybe not having the pressure of being on "the" team will be a good thing.

He will do fine on this team....as long as he can adjustment to the riding style for the yamaha....i ride yamahas, some gel with them others dont, he has the speed, just gotta keep it on 2 wheels and try to avoid making mistakes...he has shined in many moments and had some tough get offs as well.....nice to see a team step up, especially from his area.....kinda nice to see that in the sport...

Dude spent more time on the ground than anyone else in the 250 class last year. He won't be a threat for a win or championship. Doubt he's evn got a salary. 5-10 guy, should just start looking for a 9-5. Harsh but true.

Well his bike won't be as good, but pc is a pressure ride. Who knows what happens when that veil is lifted.

Hopefully he can still do well after getting dropped from the big team, look at Gannon Audette and Kyle Peters. Plus i think Alldredge also rode Yamahas as an amateur, i remember ads in Transworld he was #588

He ripped on yamahas his whole amateur career. Maybe he'll be comfortable now and make it a season healthy.

I was Cole Martinez's mechanic in SX on the BPMX team The team is certainly not Star, but they do have a decent budget and the team manager and owner really want to grow and be a legitimate team.

The bikes last year were several HP off the top bikes, but they had some hiccups before the season to cause that. I think the bike will be much more competitive this year.

I hope they got Chris cheap, because I think there are available riders with more potential. Shit, Cole beat Alldrege on his PC bike at a few rounds.

All in all, I'm happy for the team and I wish them well for next year! The owner Steve and his family are truly great people and really love the sport, and he's a very smart business man. Home Depot is a big brand to have on board!

He's only been in for two seasons. He was injured a lot. Amateur to pro is a big shift, I think he'll get it figured out. Telling him to find a 9-5 after two years trying? Very harsh indeed lol. You sound like a quitter. He may not pan out, but to quit this early would be a mistake in my opinion.

It is nice to see that they got Home Depot, an outside MX sponsor, involved in the sport! That is always something positive.
