Was browsing through some old photos and ran across my old CR125 back in the day. Can't remember the year. Had to be like an 86-88 model.

BTW, I had one. It was the first "amazing" bike I ever owned. Went from back of the pack beginner, to front of the pack novice in a matter of weeks after trading my '86 YZ125 for that bike.

It was just so long ago. Smile Bought it from a local pro. Once I got on that bike I actually won some races.

88 -- the first year of that blood red. One of my best friends had one, it was a great bike after a head mod and a pipe. I had the 87 but the 88 always looked so much better!

Id love to scan the pics of me racing my uncles 89 CR500 to show off when I was 18, you guys would laugh at my scrawny ass holding on. Top 5 finishes both times though, out of 20+ before the wise comments come in. .

Looooved that bike! I too bought one from a local pro - actually, it was the bike that Pat Barton rode while leading all but the last 2 laps of the first moto at Southwick that year. I was able to consistently pull top 5 starts with that bike. Luckily, it was outfitted with crazy flourescent orange plastics that made it easy for my Dad to locate me after I crashed my brains out trying to ride over my head!

Ah yes, the guys who actually showed up to race the local Beginner class with the stock Yamaha #1's still on the bike. That's how you knew you were dealing with a true badass.

This was my first "amazing" bike. First brand new bike I ever had. 89 CR125. Think I was 15 at the time. I thought it was cooler than a friggin' Eskimo! Even filed the paint off the 'Honda' on the clutch cover from new and those numbers and backgrounds were hand traced and cut out. Ahhh those were the days....

I had a 1988 CR125.
Bought it of a guy I use to race called Karl Muggeridge. Years later I was at my local watering hole and on the TV there he was winning a world superbike race.
First one with the red seat. Honda on the seat was cool as.

I went from a 1987 KX80 (with a 105 kit) to a 1988 CR125. I came of age on the 125. I desert raced the 1988 CR125 and in one race was battling with a CR500. I beat him. After the race, he saw me take off my helmet and saw I was a 14yr old kid. He walked over and said "you ride that like a big bike." Then he said "nice riding."

I also remember cold seizing that bike and eating clutches.

Oh sweet memories.
