Good question. Guessing for guys like Eli and Dungey it's between 500k to 2 million. Broad range but I bet it's between there. And that's just from the factory. They have bonus money coming from gear, helmets, goggles, etc. that can drive it even higher.

450 = 1 Million per championship

250 = 500k per championship

I know that a certain 250 rider if he wins a championship his salary for the remaining years of his contract his upgraded to 500k a year.

Stew made close to 10 mil for his last supercross title, after endorsements, sponsors and the team combined! There's really no telling to be honest. Plus u do understand they make money under the table too from sponsors etc! Lmao not every dollar is reported Tongue but at the end of the day it wouldn't suprise me between 12-15 mil? That includes the race purse as well of course hehe

12-15 million for a title? Give me whatever you are smoking. Not close.

From information I've read through the years, a rider like Dungey or Tomac, Roczen, will make 50k-100k bonus from the factory for an event win and 1 million bonus (500k-1.5mil) for a title. That's just bonus money. Ive read that factories take out insurance as protection from riders winning. Also, on a side note, supposedly Suzuki didn't insure Dungey his first 450 year and he won 16 total races (6sx, 10mx) and both titles, a total of 3.6 million and they couldn't pay him all of it. In the article I read, I wish I could remember where I read that, Suzuki still owed him money when he went to KTM. I think Reed has made a ton of money as well.

There's no telling,I'm sure it's different for each racer.
Like take Reed for example...
I think he made out pretty well in 2008 (I think it was).
I believe he took out an insurance policy on himself with lloyds of london to win the championship.
I believe it paid him well.

Reed's 09' outdoor title he insured himself. I think since then, those policies have gotten so expensive, they have basically gone away? I think in light of KROC's injury, those guys are idiots not to buy a career ending policy. Emig did and his paid out in 2000 time frame, after his broken back deal.

I don't think Reed actually took out the policy, I'd bet he took "less" of a salary so that the entity paying the bonus took out the policy.

You insure against loss, and to receive the proceeds you need to have suffered a loss. Reed wouldn't have suffered a loss by merely winning a title, but an entity contracting with him (OEM, etc), would have suffered a monetary loss so they could collect.

For SX.. the 450 Champion takes in a $100K. Purse pays $12k per race win.

Then wth really knows all of the bonus cash they bring in. Only they do. Of course, you could look up the contingency part of that by going to each sponsors website. Then whatever they negotiated on top of that.

With all the "record" attendance and ratings.....

Yeah.. whole nother story that SHITTY purse payout.

It you are a paid factory rider... you do not get contingency any more...
your bonus structure, and salary, override contingency. At least this was the case 15/16 years ago.

The fun part is we're all just speculating an ass grabbing.
None of us know.
At one point Dungy was getting money from Target KTM and Nike, come on who knows how much money that could've been. what about #RV2 3peat? The rumor mill is going insane these guys are all worth at least 20 or 30 million. Chad Reed is rumored worth 80 by now.

The sad part is there's no #RacersUnion and there's guys that are 5,6 years in the game still broke as F. The average guy on line is racing for nearly nothing.

100k per win is the norm, I've heard of top guys getting 130.

1 mill is the lowest title pay, the highest I heard is 1.5

Factory Riders do not get contingency money, they get bonus money for the top three spots.

Reed Road for Suzuki for basically free took out the insurance policy on himself and made 3.5 million when he won the title.

That's exactly what he got, 3.5 million, if somebody told you more they were lying to you.

Now go away, the adults are having a conversation.

Conversation is about Factory bonus money. I'm guessing you were referring to what Reed did then?
