It's not that, he can't buy a start on that Yamaha.

Each time he's started up front he's stayed there. He's also gone forward anywhere from 3-12 spots in the mains, but he is maybe the worst he's ever been out of the gate.

Actually was hoping the blue bike would be a holeshot machine for him this year.

As we age, our reaction times slow... maybe it ain't the bike..

Could be, but wouldn't that also account for everything else?

I think DV might be onto something with the bike delivery... Watching him out of the gate he almost always spins or wheelies, regardless of if he gets a good drop or not.

If you had a dollar for every time that was the case with Reed, you'd have more than a few dollars, to say the least.

Also a lot of corners on this track... Without seeing any video, almost all year he's been consistently wider of other riders in turns, for a guy who's made a career of cutting down, it looks weird.

I was a holeshot artist when I was a teenager and to this day have excellent gate drop reaction times. I seriously doubt Chad's reaction time is the problem.

McGrath had his YZ250F starts dialed. At a GH National his rear tire never broke loose off the start. Stayed hooked up the entire time putting the power to the ground. As I recall he played around a LOT with tire pressures.

You should've seen the finish in his Semi, he was PISSED. Lol He just couldn't make up the ground once got up near the front few in that race. Backmarkers are easier pickins.

Wasn't reed testing new tyres this week? Maybe the new tyres are on his bike today and he is not liking them and not hooking up like the old set

Your comparing yourself .. racing with lesser guys then what Reed is racing with... you know that right?

Excellent point JoJmoto and thanks for pointing that out. My baseline for comparison is we are all human. Could be wrong but at the moment it is my opinion if you are born with good reflexes you will have them certainly well beyond Chad's years.

And it might surprise you I was in a heat race one time with Chad Reed for real and not in a game. Matter of fact Nathan Ramsey was in same heat race too. I have the print out to prove it.

It was a kart racing not moto at Pole Position circa 2008. Road to Recovery benefit if memory serves correct. They and a few others smoked me but it was fun and an honor sharing pavement with them

Dv thinks his power delivery is way too abrupt, not smooth etc.

The corners is my observation. You never see him low in a corner anymore, he always has get to the wall of the berm on the exit to finish his turns, he's never been that guy, always cuts down.

I have not read up on the new yami, I am unsure if anything was changed for 16 or not. Bike set up with mapping these days certainly can fine tune the bikes. Maybe his isn't right yet, DV certainly should know.
