What's your newest dirt bike - contraption and when do you plan on purchasing a new one, amigo ?

Me - 2008 KXF 250.

Holding out for the 2014 KX line up, I feel really %%^&$#% good about the ' 14 models.

Genuinely think they'll have something really new and fresh to offer.

Cautiously optimistic.

I bought a brand new bike in 06. It was a CRF250. Best bike I ever had. Was a freakin blast to ride and I could go fast on it. After that, always bought used because it's so damn cheap.

The only NEW dirtbike Ive bought myself (exlcuding mini bikes) was an 08 crf250 after Trey won the supercross title. I now ride a used 08 yz450

I'm with ya brother - my boy bought a gently used 09 KXF 450 in late '09 for $4500.00 and saved himself about 3-4 grand.

Me like this topic. I'm going to beat the shit out of my low hour CRF but old model (2007). When that is done I'm going all gusto with whatever awesomeness the market has to offer 2013! For the first time in my life I'm going to buy whatever I want without thinking about price (at that time my salary will correlate with my needs for the first time in a decade).

Right now I have a banana in my pocket for the new RMZ250, or a pumpkin...

My newest bike was a brand new 2011 KTM150 when they just came out, Awesome bits of kit!

When my financial circumstances change and i can get back too riding, I will buy the newest, best condition 250 two stroke I can find.

Bought a new 2007 RM250 in early 2010

New Bike will be a 2013 or 2014 just depending if I feel the need of a new bike and have the dough

Either getting a sx250 or the 150 if it has FI/DI by then!

I have a 2011 Yamaha YZ125 sitting in the garage with about 20 hours on it! Of course now it's almost wintertime so she will sit til spring where it will await a freshly groomed track.

Holy shit. Bike prices in your neck of the wood rules. Makes the ambition to buy a new one a bit crazy? Seems one could fill up the garage with decent used ones? Still one could always buy a new one just in case! Smile

My spankin' new motoryclette patiently awaits for me to unwrap, disassemble, lubricate, reassemble, and shred!

Probably my next bike will be a KTM exc 250 or 300, depending what the low hours market have to offer at the time, it is a motocross bike with softer suspensions.... when? well that is the question.... don't see anything earlier than next winter

Last new bike was a leftover 2010 Husky WR300 back in March, before that was my 2010 Husky CR125/144 in June 2010. In fact I don't think I've ever bought a new model when they first come out since my dad bought me a 1993 KX80 in Sept. 92, usually it's when next years model is close to hitting the floors or already out. My next brand new bike is probably a couple of years away, I don't put enough hours on these bikes to clap them out every year like some guys do and I don't see much new innovation to make my 2010s seem obsolete any time soon.

I am currently trying to sell my 2006 kx250 so i cand find me a lightly used 2005 and up yz250 or rm250 two stroke. Ive always liked the yz250s so its time to get rid of mine and find me one.

My 2006 YZ250 can go a heck of a lot faster than I can, that being the case it's difficult envisioning buying a new bike any time soon. I've already tried the 450 four stroke thing, but prefer the fun of a 2-stroke.

I see it being much more likely that I'd add another post vintage bike to my 81YZ250 and 84 RM250 mix...a 1981 490 Maico would be ideal if I could find a decent one.

Going to put a deposit down on a 2012 KTM 450SXF in the next few days. Between my vacation payout, a small cash bonus, and selling wifes snowmobile, I will have it paid for cash. Then, a new helmet... I should be good to go. Man, its going to be a longggg winter.

My new bike is a 2007CR250 I bought new in 2007 and honestly don't see myself ever parting with it.
I do however want a new 450 but haven't brought myself to pull the trigger yet and those '12 KTM smokers sound pretty tempting too.

This. If the carb version I hope you've considered what will happen to the resale when the EFI model comes out early next year. Either way congrats!

Paid $5000 for a holdover 2010 KX250F last season. Raced it the end of last year and the beginning of this year. Awesome machine. Decided I was done with MX and sold it for $4200. Thankfully kept all my gear because it took about 2 weeks to realize I made a huge mistake. With a kid in college and one starting to drive I can't do a new bike this time around. Picked up a basket case last gen CR250 for $500 and went through it. Motor, suspension, etc all redone. Updated it with '10 plastic. $1500 total and it's pretty much a new bike. I love 4 strokes, but this is the most fun I've had in a long time!

If money wasn't so tight, I'd be looking at another new KX250F. Maybe the new KTM 250 smoker? I've had a couple of 450s and I just can't use that much power. Heck, I can't even use all the 250 has - 2 or 4 stroke! Good enough to win races in the 40+ class though...

Hey Evan... call me crazy, but I WANT the carbed version. THen, maybe look at a 2014. This one I will just gear it, get the suspension done, tall bars, and ride it.

I thought of that too... so, I might have to keep it a year or two. Im 41 now, and havent raced for 8 years, so I think its realistic to expect a couple seasons out of a bike with a fair bit of practicing, trails and a small amount of racing. If the Dungey model proves to be great, then Im sure I could find a nice used one somewhere. Or, get two bikes.... ? or, a 250 two smoker.... soooo many bikes, so little time. Ha ha. I just want to ride, and I highly doubt the FI version will be available to the average retard such as myself for quite some time.
