I ain't a fan of CR22, but that was a bad result for him. I am sure there is room for discussion. Maybe just an off week but after A1...it's hard to tell.

Things were back to normal this weekend, IMO he'll be around 6-10 all year.

I am sure there is more fans that would like to vent at that ride. 9th place ain't were CR22 wants to be. I was expecting more. But it's still early...it's only 2 races in. Brayton made it on the podium which is awesome. Gonna be a good year!

Reed seems to have trouble at Phoenix. Even in 2012, he struggled to get a 5th. I think he'll turn things around next week.

I don't think Chad would be happy with that result, either. BUT, it's only round 2. This is only his 2nd race on that bike. The start was important tonight and everyone was really close in times. Give him some more time to figure things out with his fitness, machine, and team.

Yep... The track was super tricky, and the results were all over the shop.

If he holeshots instead of Brayton he probably podiums, it's that tight this year. He was a fair way back and charged to the end. He'll be ok

Yep start was important on the track as Brayton showed, awesome ride for him.

Reed was buried way way back, and showed with qualifying that his speed was not quite there tonight. Next week is another weekend and ill be cheering him on again.

Brayton was exceptional tonight, I don't think reed would have held his ground...or should I say keep pushing like justin did tonight

Reedy may not have the digital reflexes of his younger years. But he still has the skillzz it takes to be up front with the fast guys. And he now has wisdom from so many years. This track was welll lets just say it then.... this track was .... a bitter.. it bit peeps all day. Reed rolled a 13 on the start and just tried to advace as safe as he could considering the gamble. He finished decent. Not where he wanted bt smart. It is a long season.

That track was very slick, even my young fella got a faster lap time in the final, soften the dirt a little and keep Chad in the hunt till it heads east and he can still roll whoever he needs to.

He will go better East, as long as these bad West races don't set him back too far. He also cant afford bad starts this year. No one can. Except RV it seems.

Never does well at Phoenix.

Watching the replay now so no comment otherwise but it's not been a great place for him, no berms, flat hard turns and typically he needs more front end feel than is available in the desert!

Having said that, RV is effin amazing at flat turns...

As a Reed fan, I concur. He's much faster than 99.9% of all moto/supercross riders will ever be, but I sense he's lost his "fire in the belly". Madly hoping he'll prove us wrong, but I think your analysis is spot on.

Only advanced 4 spots.. if he hopes to be a title contender he'll have to find a way to do better.

Not for nothing but i'd hazard a guess if you look at a lap chart not many people made more passes than that or it would be average... RV went from 11th it looked like but really phoenix is almost always about the start,

That is why I think too.

I expect also Weimer, Peick or Hahn to be in this top 10. The start is critical.

I was expecting reed to do good here. It was a very technical slick track.....reeds specialty......to be honest, I am glad he loves the sport so much but he needs to be realistic about not being a front runner. He lucked into a position last week.....I see 8-12 all year long.

Looks like there is plenty of stuff in his belly, lately...Laughing

I am a big Reed fan, but, I can't help but question his fitness, as he appears about 25 pounds heavier than his "lean, mean fighting machine" look in 2011/12 when he was a threat (THE threat).

Or maybe I'm crazy?

I just think he looks a little… fat.

This. Last week two of the fastest guys went down. That would have put him in 5th and thats about what I see with him. Between 5th and 10th. Still impressive though.

Tough field this year for sure. Don't see Reedy riding around 5-10+ place for long before he'd pack it in. One of the greats and those guys don't hang around once they get to that point.
