Since CP377 has not been in the states racing for 3+ years, can he race 250F regional Supercross? Those with insight to the rules, please advise. If so, he is an instant contendar.

Pourcel already won two 250 SX championships in 2009 & 2010. He is not eligible for that class anymore in SX.

From the 2014 rulebook:

3. After a rider wins a second Championship, in either region, the rider will be ineligible for the 250SX class, regardless of points or number of years in class.

If I was picking purely looking for results, I would have picked Pourcel to ride along Millsaps before Hahn.

So what does CP have lined up for 2015? I'm sure there's another thread on this somewhere, so disregard if it's already been covered.

CP has a reputation of being difficult to work with, and handling things in an unprofessional manner. I am not saying that reputation is justified, but that is the vibe. So, what team manager is going to stick his neck out to put CP on his team?

As for Factory Kawi, they have a history of selecting 2nds rider that maximizes their chance of winning the title. That means someone who will support and get along well with the primary rider. It does NOT mean picking the guy they expect to finish highest in the points. Kawi would rather go 1-8 in the SX standings than 2-5. Wil is a great compliment to Davi. They are buds and team chemistry will be great. CP is not a championship contender, so what purpose would he serve on Factory Kawi in SX?

From those standpoints CP is NOT a good choice. There are also issue of complimentary sponsors. There are legitimate reasons that CP does not have a 450 SX ride with a top team, and none of them have anything to do with team managers not being as smart as you.

If CP377 got a ride and won a race in SX, which I think he is better at then MX I would not be surprised at all.

Not a championship contender? I would say he has as good a shot of a championship as Davi. He doesn't ride over his head and SX races would jive well with his fitness.

Just IMO I kind of view this guy as a huge gamble, yeah he is fast but he has to race the 450 class in sx. Also, just from his past him going to new teams are a hit or miss. Either, he would kill it for you and give you great PR, or give up a few laps in and quit your team. That would be a lot of money invested for a maybe, with who all is still have no deals in the 450 class. I just don't see them grabbing him. I hope he races sx, I am interested to see him on a 450.

Is there anything saying he won't ride for his current team on a 450? If not I don't see why Reed wouldn't pick him up. He would be a championship contender over Grant I would imagine. Nothing against Grant the guy has a ton of talent. If Grant could put all the pieces together he would be winning. But the same is true of many riders nowadays.

I could be wrong, I thought I was once but I was mistaken, but hasn't he said many times that the only team he really wants to race for is Pro Circuit? It is for this reason I believe he will be on a PC 450 next season.

I would have picked him before Millsaps. Better on a 250, better outdoors, multi-time regional SX champ.

Does this mean I'm right and I win a shirt? But seriously, he was on Kawasaki's from 2004 to 2007 in Europe, and also 2009 to 2010 with success and I remember him saying in an interview that signing with PC was the realization of a lifelong dream for him.

You guys need to quit teasing ... if you know something, spit it out all ready! Pourcel on a PC450 would be a threat for wins. His riding style is pure JMB ... and we know what that produced.

Pourcel on a PC 450 would be awesome. I read PC was looking to add a 5th guy but no potential 250 winners are available... could make sense...

Maybe it's in Kawasaki's hands... Pourcel on PC or Grant on TwoTwo?

holeshots.....
led and raced hard.....

Look at it this way: how many 250 titles does PC have? Most of us can't count that high and the record books don't go back that far. How many 450 titles does PC have? Right! Who had faith in CP 6 years ago and gave him a chance? Right! Who delivered? Right! If PC is going to win a 450SX title who would they sign? Right! Talk about crafty!
