CA Irwindale Speedway Closing

Yeah, heard that one today. No bueno.

Heard the rumor a few weeks ago, didn't believe it for a second. I owe someone a huge apology, and might have to take what they say a lil more serious in the future. Had some good times at that place.

I remember that place way back in the 70's, well the original one. My brother signed up one friday night to race the following week on his XR75 and they closed!

We raced there for years and had a lot of great times. Moto can take a lesson from this. They failed to control the costs both for the racers and the fans. In the end both declined, sponsors left and it is gone. It's too bad the place was amazing, especially compared to the other tracks on the west coast.

Not too bummed they blew it when they changed the planning.What happened to the motocross track and speedway races? it was to be a copy of the old speedway that's what I was told when I called them back when they changed their minds I was told it was not needed any more.They wanted to be big shots and be a NASCAR track.
