Had one come out on my 125.. That didn't end to well. Hate watching them fly across the garage too

I've always "trapped" the clip with my thumb, so no watching it soar across the garage. However, you HAVE to know I learned that trick the hard way.

I do the whole operation with my thumb. Use the valley in the cutout to start the clip. Then use your thumbnail to hook the clip, and slide it right up to flush with the piston. Once it catches the inside of the piston one good push will pop it in.

If I was a professional mechanic doing 2-3 of these a week, I'd most likely get 2 popular sizes. Otherwise a little thumb pain is ok. You are doing the first one in the piston on the bench right?

I do them both on the bench, it's much easier.

I bought one from them. It literally takes me 20 seconds to put the two clips in. I HIGHLY recommend the tool...well worth the money.

Always cool when somebody comes up with a specialty tool like that.

It works. The only negative is how dumb you feel after knowing how easy it is and why you didnt buy it earlier.

best tool ever.

Ever tried to install c-clips on newer KTM two strokes? those clips are super stiff and don't compare to any other clips from other brands. They are a nightmare to install and the buxtool is worth every penny.

if you plan on keeping the bike or staying on ktm, buy the tool.

i changed a lot of two strokes pistons without special tools, no problem. But the first time i had to deal with those ktm clips really made me angry and i was getting annoyed, evry few hours when i needed to change the piston again. bent two clips and lost a few other ones during those piston changes.

when i started using the clipper, the piston installation took 1/3 of the time and was super easy.
