Yes, on a KX450. Pitted by his motorhome, getting some backdoor parts from Kawi (shhhhh), and being wrenched for by a recently laid off ex-Kawi team mechanic.

I have a feeling he'll end up with a fill in ride.. He'll win replacement rider of the year.

It is kind of a shame , as he was getting stronger as the year went on. After he made his comeback , his results were getting better and better every week. I think it can get really hard for some of these teams to pick these riders , with so many new talented young kids coming up......go with a seasoned vet like M.B. , or take a chance on some wild ,young go for broke kid?

I highly doubt that if he is getting some parts from Kawi that his results would otherwise suffer since he isn't on a "Factory" Bike.....Come on, nbikes especially the 450's are so good now even a privateer with Byrner's speed could place just as well as he did last year. Shit even the Geico riders are running stock revalved Factory connection suspension and they are basically a factory honda team w/o the "Factory" title..... There is no reason for his results to suffer otherwise.......Jlaw didn't have ANY Yamaha support when he almost won Daytona

Chad Reed doesn't seem to think too highly of them either and he isn't Canadian. Hell, lots of the magazines (MXA especially) don't like the new Honda's, and they aren't Canadian Tongue

I was watching Burner through the whoops at the sx here, and his suspension was miles ahead of Reardons Factory connections stuff IMO.

I just hope there isn't an excuse made that he could do better with factory equipment....Im pretty sure his bike would be more than sufficent to win with how little they are modified compared to the works 2 strokes of the past......

Isn't Kawasaki the only team paying contingency money this season? That could be a factor in him choosing a bike also.

Byrner will be fine. He has never really been one to bitch about the bikes. He is a solid rider that will prove many people wrong just like IT9!! Will Byrner win no will he make the top 10? We will have to wait till tonight!!

I've seen Byrner's bike, and I would definitely say he isn't at any disadvantage. He will do just fine. Don't think it hurts to have one of Kawi's testing mechanics from the last year as your mechanic....
