I'm not sure if this gibes completely with what we already know, or not...I'd just like to see the National return to Glen Helen.

It first showed up almost a year ago, and has been retreaded a couple times since. Here's the link to when it originally came up in September 2012.

I'd certainly like to see the races back there, but the track and the management are two different issues.

Who did DMG WANT to do business with?
Who was DMG NOT interested in doing business with?
Those are the simple & truthful answers that resolve ALL of this.
The France family knows more about promoting racing than ANYONE in our sport.
Period.
Another thing: anyone wonder, other than me, if the folks at DMG saw more value than $2 Million for the series?
I use to make the trip to GH every May, from Texas, with my son and buddy. It was such an epic track and had so many great vantage points for spectating. The vibe GH creates is un-paralleled by any other track, especially Pala and Elsinore. It was the perfect track to kick off the Nationals. We haven't attended a National in California since it was pulled.
Until Glen Helen is returned to the schedule, all others are mere pretenders.

DMG did not do very well with AMA Pro Racing for road racing, and was in a bit of shambles over time, the France's family's ultimate ownership notwithstanding. You can track that at Ulrich's Road Racing publication.
I guess I am curious is whether this article is being redistributed periodically in attempt to somehow try to put MXSports on the hot seat about getting the race back on the calendar. It's a pretty bizarre and dysfunctional way to go about it.

...and its bad enough that MXA doesnt put a name to any article on their site, but no date either is just ridiculous!
It struck me as odd when it popped up again a month ago, http://www.vitalmx.com/forums/Moto-Related,20/DC-Good-Guy-Bad-Guy,1256519 , and it seems even odder that it came up again. Bauer's a pretty straight shooter, so maybe he just was digging into an internet search.
(EDIT: Okay, Steve's explanation that it's live linked on the GH front page explaints why it keeps showing up.)
But I don't think more of the same from Bud is going to advance the ball of getting Glen Helen back on the schedule.
what was once a world class series is the equivalent of Canadian motocross in the road racing world
id hate to see ama pro mx/sx turn out like this but with all these gay rules, making all the tracks the same, getting rid of historical tracks in favor of parking lots with dirt on them..it kind of makes me yearn for the past.
