Brooks sounds sort of cocky and bitter towards Reed.

Media Events......gotta love it.

Seems still butt hurt from Budds Creek last year.

And trying to shield James and the team from the SX only criticism from the fans. As he should.

I'm confused...what does that mean in English?

Shielding the riders from the fans? They're not doing SX-only. I guess occasionally people hear what they want to hear from the interviews. Smile

Good job by both of those guys. You know, this sport has gotten so professional...I kind of long for the days when Hannah would ghost ride his bike into Howerton and then say, Hell, yeah, I was trying to break that asshole's leg...But Bubba's not all that PC so it's OK. I'm bummed that James isn't going to ride the nationals, though. In my personal opinion, the nationals are the races that matter. I don't even care if Reed won the SX title last year. To me, James and Villopoto are the only two champs from '08.

I've been a huge JS fan for a long time. MX is all I really care about. Not seeing him at the nationals due to injury sucked enough. Not seeing him race for the championship because he simply doesn't want to is a slap in the face to real MX fans. What happens to the fans whose local race isn't in Brooks words "big media events"? I willing to bet Unadilla, is not a big media event, and a track James can do without. Southwick does not seem like a "big media event".

I don't like the general direction this seems to be going. I hope something changes for the better soon.

The sport is growing , and I'm all for it. But, at what cost? The history and tradition of this sport is on natural terrain tracks. SX is just a fix to get us through the winter...

We better get some 60db pipes, and stadiums with weekly practice, or we're in big trouble. Grin
Mototown in CT seemed to have some trouble, and they were SX oriented. MX tracks seem to be in the cross hairs over sound issues.

The money may eliminate the tradition, then what's left?Wassat

Thanks for the videos by the way. That part of the sport growing is a def plus. It's awesome to get video media that soon after an event. Not like the mags I read on the bowl, whose most recent articles speak of the possibility of another undefeated MX season. Smile

Bubba seems pumped to be on his new bike and Larry equally pumped to have JS on board. I did notice one small thing Larry doesnt seem too excited about the displacement rule where as bubba sounds like he cant wait for it.
It is going to be different seeing Bubba not riding something green wearing fox riding gear it has been a long haul with those two that must just about be some sort of record.....same bike and clothing companies for how long? 12-13 years or more??? Who else would come close to that?

From what I can ascertain, it looks as though they are going to take this whole "James Stewart Entertainment" deal on the road simply for the media exposure. Like Larry said, they will hit high profile events like the X Games. I can see James doing special guest appearances on TV shows, NASCAR events, MotoGP events, F1 events etc etc. I think the JSE deal is going to lead to something much bigger and I believe they have a specific, ultimate goal in mind.
