I believe he's riding Supercross for the Dirt Candy team, which is on Suzukis for 2015.

Interesting...

He just signed with Kawi Canada for the summer... didn't mention he'd be on a different bike this winter... http://www.mxpmag.com/mxp-chatter-brett-metcalfe-4/
Not that interesting. Contract is through summer on a Kawi. Meaning his winter months are free.

Makes good sense. Quite a few riders who spend their summers up North have done deals like those.

So sad that a top 5 outdoors guy, and likely a top ten indoor guy can't get a ride.

He's got a ride, and probably a good ride. I had this convo with one of my riders earlier this week. Sure everyone has the dream to race SX or here in the states. But sometimes you have to follow the money. If you can race a different series and have your expenses paid (at minimum), why not do it? It beats paying your way in hopes of something to come up. I'm glad he has something figured out for west coast.

Here is a little of what Brett had to say about Team Dirt Candy in a RacerX interview right after the MEC race.

http://racerxonline.com/2014/10/27/monday-conversation-brett-metcalfe

RacerX - I would think on the surface when you go out there and get fourth in the Nationals in the U.S. and then you end up having to go back to Canada anyway because you can’t get a ride, people would think, that guy’s got to be so mad. Are you mad about the way things ended up or are you still happy, you still have a good ride in Canada?

Brett Metcalfe - It’s a mixed feeling but when you look at me, there’s realistically I think five guys that are in kind of the same position as me. They don’t have a ride, they’re super talented and everybody works hard nowadays, maybe some more than others, but we’re all kind of professional and take care of our business and we still don’t have things lined up [in the U.S.]. So for one I’m thankful when I went up to Canada in 2013. I basically went up there just to reestablish myself and keep going. This year I get to reap the reward of that and still have a deal to go up there, but I’m still thankful that I get to race motocross and do this thing that I love. It’s a little bit of a shame that our sport, it’s still a little slim. There are more riders in the 450 class than positions on teams, and it’s tough for the guys. There’s a lot of guys that I think are going to not have what they normally would have and should have. So I’m thankful I can still do this thing. For once I’ve got a good long-term plan over the next few years. Dirt Candy Graphics Race Team, they’re a big part of that. We’re trying to evolve into something for the future. So I’m really excited about that. There’s no doubt in ’16 and ’17 I’ll be back in the US racing. So that makes things exciting for me knowing that I can come back here and ride it out to the end.

Good to hear Team Dirt Candy has some plans. Hope they work out. And I like what he says about '16 and '17. Good spirit.

Cool.

A series with Brett Mettcalf in it is a better series. I dig the guy and the way he goes about his business. I hope the Suzuki agrees with him and hes able to stay HEALTHY and get some top sevens.

Whats that gear hes wearing in the picture? Im leaning toward its horrible looking.

The vintage Thor gear Team France used for MXdN.

Metty seems like a classy guy that always lands on his feet. I don't blame him at all for going for the money. Heck, he's probably the number one guy on the Dirt Candy Graphics team, and will get the attention he deserves, where he might have to be second (or third) banana on a team here because everything is so stacked. Hope he kills it up north this coming season!

And, I still think he would have been a better pick for TwoTwo than Grant...but, oh well!

I hope they put the correct fuel tank on this time.... ( I know it's sx, but)
Best of luck to Metty, one cool guy.

Anyone else thinks he may end up riding Stewart's bike if that goes all pair shape. Great contingency plan for Suzuki in my books.

They put their biggest one back on for 2nd moto. The bigger factory tank went back to it's owner's for moto 2.

Nah, I meant the practice crash that wrecked his Suzuki career, you know, the one where Webb never even phoned him to check on him....

You wouldn't like riding in Australia then, everyone second rider now has MR2 X4 lid. Tongue
I don't really like them either, but everyone here seems to run them now.
