I am trying to put together a list of brands that started in motocross and became mainstream. FOX and Oakley are the first two on the list. Any others you can think of that got their start in MX?

FMF.. I've found their Hats and T shirts in stores. Maybe not totally mainstream but I think their apparel is cool.

Alpinestars

Technically they were already a small Italian buisiness, initially making boots marketed towards hiking and skiiing, but the brand probably wouldn't exist today had John Penton not convinced them to start making boots for motocross and offroad riding, which became a total game changer for both the company and the sport.

No Fear was mainstream. They even had brick and mortar stores in locations like Irvine Spectrum.

I don't think so! Started by Josh Grant and HLTN letters were on his shoei helmet before they even released a single item of apparel on sale.

I think they started in surfing. Like most other moto brands. Either way, pretty cool company and message.

GoPro? A few years ago I only saw them on MX riders and other extreme sporters and now everyone and their dog has one.

HLTN is part owned by Josh Grant and some other buddies (friend of his that used to be at Volcom and Unit, Pete Martini from Racer X, and I think Sunny Garcia?). The company has only been rolling a short time, I wouldn't consider it mainstream.

In the So Cal area, Troy Lee and One Industries are a bit more common to see. But just about anywhere else, it would be hard to find anyone that recognizes the name. Fox on the other hand is well known in every state and even outside the US.

Life's A Beach.....remember RJ wearing the shorts over his riding gear...Started by Mark and Brian Simonitus (Simo) and Jeff Surwall. Later became No Fear after an internal issue with an investor in the original company.

Mainstream people.

Think "brands you can buy in a store at the mall".

Like Mandingo pickles.

Remember the Bad Boy Club stuff? I always thought the dude on the logo was RJ.
I believe it all started with Surfers, Skaters, and Motocrossers around the same time.

Imagine that. Actually reading before posting a reply.

That kind of behavior will sink this place!

JT ever considered mainstream?

Seven might get there if we can ever get Bubba back on the track...
