This is the "factual" story. I did not catch the first moto, just first hand from my son. Watched the second moto and it was a great race for the first 4 laps.

I thought it was only the British tabloids that had trouble with the truth?

Really just missed the win in the second. He was 3 sections behind in the 2nd moto once Mike passed him, looked like Mike wore him out.

There is some misinformation going around about Mike Alessi losing today at the Winter AM round at Dade City,Fl.Mike went 2-1 for the overall win in the 450A class. This was Mike's first time ever racing at Dade City and used the 450A class as practice to learn the track for Sundays Pro AM racing.Todays races were short, about 8 minutes long, and in the first moto, while still learning the track, Mike made a mistake and went off the course. He lost about 10 seconds. He caught back up to the back of Brad Anderson('09 British Champion) and the checkered flag came out.In the 2nd moto, Mike caught and passed Brad in the sand whoops and won that moto by a 15 second margin, which gave him the overall for the day.I will give you the finishes after they happen tomorrow in the Pro AM race which is two 25 minute motos.

I love how MA loses one moto to the British Champ (no less) and the board goes crazy.. It was a damn 5 lap am race ..lol You go off the track and lose 10 seconds in a 5 lap race and it would be hard to win the moto. Especially when the leader is Brad Anderson who's no slouch. Brad not only won the brittish Championship he also ran top 5 at the brittish gp.. He ended up 12th overall at the gp but that was only because of some crashes while running in the top 3 of one moto. The kids fast. So fast that he was actually chosen for the Britts mxdn team but got injured training for the race.

i just love the line "This was Mike's first time ever racing at Dade City"....

because Anderson is a seasoned vet there... goes there on off-weekends between foxhills and brampton Whistling

still, congrats to both for their respective victories, regardless of the nationalistic insults that seem to have gone along with them

If Ando was racing both classes then that sounds fairly understandable.

Nothing like a nice splash of vitriol to spice up the international motocross community once again eh! Sad

brad anderson never ran top 3 or TOP 5 at all during the brit gp... he was 6th position for like 5 laps in one moto, so what the hell are you on about?

should be interesting to see how ma does when he rides hawstone pre season gp international in the UK in a couple of months!

Well done Brad, it shouldnt be too much of a surprise, Brad beat Swanepole for that British title and Swanie got 6th at Unadilla, Brad doesn't even race GPs full time 15th and 12th overall in the two he did I think. Of course Mike wasn;t used to the track in his own country so it was a bit unfair..... Maybe if Brad was riding in his own country it would even it up ha ha. It just goes to show the US gets a lot of hype but the British nationals are fast too. perception isn't always reality......

On his day, Brad's capable of holding his own in any race, whether it be AMA, GP, or otherwise. Alessi on the other hand can hold his own (and be pushing for the overall) most days..

Conclusion - Brad was having one of 'his days' at the Dade, and whilst on his honeymoon as well, gotta love that..!

#1. Dont ever confuse a local AM 6-8 lap race with a 30 min +2 lap pro national on a beat to piss track. This is why you dont see a lot of top pro's doing AM races.

#2. Dont ever let the truth get in the way of a good story.
