I am so sad to say the debut of Kyle Bitterman ended with disappointment. Its crazy how this sport can bring you from your highest highs to your lowest lows in less then a week.

Kyle was kill"in it on his new Yamaha ride, leading the main when tragedy struck and he crashed and broke his femur. He is now out of surgery and it went well. It was a clean break and they placed a rod in his leg.

You can wish him well and support on his facebook, https://www.facebook.com/kyle.bitterman581?fref=ts

I was there, right in front of me. I knew it the minute he hit the ground. real bad crash, he was leading and hauling a$$ and went over the bars into a bowl turn. I was actually pissed they waited 3 laps to red flag it and forever to get him a medic. he immediately threw his helmet off and they were routing guys behind him a foot from his bare head. They need more track workers at these things. There was a little kid with a 50 on his back pinned for what seemed like an eternity and all I could think of was the pipe burning the crap out of him. Sorry for him, he was owning it. Bad luck.

One thing definitely being kept on the DL, wonder why all the CP rods are back ordered. Yamaha needs to own up to this.

I heard a clunk mid air..., then the bike was dragged off with a locked up wheel.

It was right in front of me . His bike was about 10 feet in the air as I was trying to dodge it. Super scary crash and wish him a speedy recovery

Yeah, the guy dragging it off, fooled with trying to find neutral for some time, so I guess the tranny was screwed. Saw the same thing, locked up rear tire. his bike sure did nose dive, now it all makes sense.

Well, truth be told, we are all riding a ticking time bomb when we throw a leg over a bike... Its just a bitch that these 4 strokes do this shit when things go bad!

I hate it for Kyle so bad. I have helped him over the last few years and it seemed like he was coming into his own and about to make some things happen.

No one expected this from a true race bike but I guess it happens. He is one tuff Son of a gun and he will come back fighting. I only hope someone looks his way again when he come back.

Here's my 2 cents on the rod issue. Almost every case I've heard of involved modified engines that still had stock rods. I think more than a few guys are trying to run a bit too much compression on stock bottom ends...
