One thing that comes to my mind immediately after reading was the air filter cage backfire screen. Do you happen to know if it was existent in the bike? Do factory teams even use the backfire screens?

Can someone enlighten me as to why these threads keep getting deleted? Things catch fire all of the time, BFD, why is this particular subject so taboo all of a sudden?

You know why.. Im sure some whiney team manager or a rep for the blacked wheeled motorcycle manufacturer called and told them to take down the thread with the picture - it was also deleted off of the "uninjured" riders' IG

Not saying it for sure happened here...... but it's pretty common place for industry leaders to put pressure on places like Vital to remove unsavory content about themselves.

The press is 100% at the mercy of the teams who grant access to their pit areas and make their riders available for interviews. All of which fill the front page with the content we all love.

It's not right that a team rep should be able to (likely what happened here) call/text about content and get it removed from a media site. Especially when its true. The bike caught fire. Those are the undisputed facts of the case.

At least they blacked out the logos....

I once posted pictures of getting a bike in a crate, even though it was not the original "crate". Dealer I bought it from got a call because a more local dealer complained to the MFG that they didn't get the sale. So even though we are Vitards and the scorn of the industry, the industry is watching us....

Probably dropped a valve blowing flames into the airfilter catching it on fire.
That's just a guess of course.
But really, race bikes blow up when pushed both by the rider and on the edge tuning.
