Time for new boots, I currently have Beriks which I thought were OK but I find them very tight in the calves. Probably on account of years of playing hockey, plus being about 25 lbs overweight.................

Anyway I tried a friends Tech 7's the other day, very nice boot, but same thing. I literally have to have the straps hanging on by a thread to have any hope up buckling the upper straps. I cant be the only person with this dilemma, is there a boot that accommodates bigger legs??? My foot size is only 9 1/2.

With the new Sidi's you can extend the outer plate in two different spots to get more Calf room. Not sure about the older Sidis.

The tech 10s fit okay with my knee braces but I did have the top buckle pretty far extended out.

Yeah Sidi for sure. I am short so my knee braces are down in my boots pretty far they are about the only ones that will fit.

Gaerne also allows you to adjust. Great boots too BTW.

I also have knee braces too so that tightens things up also. Thanks for the tips, will look into them.

Pretty damn good. Wore mine for the first time and I have never put on a set of boots that felt that comfortable right out of the box.

also may not be stylish but wearing the baggy pants over the boots helps a lot

My past past pair of Sidis I had to adjust the calf all the way out as far as they would go and they would just barely fit. My newest pair of the SRS 2 I think they are called were good to go right out of the box without adjusting bigger.

I have just moved from the Sidi SRS to the new SRS II, I have big calves, with the original I left the calf/shin plate in the stock position and after a couple of rides it they had loosened off enough and were all good.

The new SRS II, I am four rides in and think I will have to move the Shin/Calf plate out, good to have that option either way.

Sweet boots as well.

Good info. My son is 6'6" and what they call "big boned". We've been looking for a size 17 boot that will fit his ungodly calves. Yes we have to modify everything on the bike to fit him.

They seem really tight around the ankles..... i have really small ankles and they were snug with me. Also have little calf muscles as well. So I don't know how those are going to work with bigger legs....

I really wanted to like the Instincts...they have a great look, but they fit me like crap when I tried them. They were too narrow for me and pinching.
Put on the SG10's and walked away happy and comfortable.

Sorry to bring an old thread back to life, but I could use some help. Between a foot injury and some weight gain, I also have large calves along with a wide foot. I wear a size 12 shoe, and my calves measures about 20" to 21" when sitting. I bought a pair of SG10's and couldn't get them buckled at the top, so I returned them. I've been reading that the SIDI's can fit up to 22", though a review I read said in reality they would fit a 20" calf which would probably work for me also.

I trail ride and race vintage so I don't need a boot to soak up doing triples or even doubles for that matter. So is there anyone that has the same issue or owns a boot that will fit a 20" to 21" calf? I figure with those wearing knee braces someone may be in that range.

Thanks in advance for the help, it's appreciated.

The AXO A2 is adjustable for braces and big calves. I wear ankle braces and they fit great. They dont have the AStars name or the big G, but they are seriously comfortable boots and as good as the late 80's early 90's AXO stuff. I was timid at first, but after riding in them, i bought a second pair. They are that nice.

Appreciate the feedback, that'll help.

I may give the SIDI's a shot though I'd like to try the AXO as Dtat720 suggested. There's a store (Iron Pony Motorsports) that seems to have a good selection about hour and a half from me, I'm thinking it makes sense to make a road trip.

Reese95w: Thanks for the tip on extending the Velcro, that's a great idea if required. I agree on the stiff boots, if I could get a pair of Alpinestars GP's to fit, I'd be a happy vintage guy.

Thanks again guys!

I have to agree with newmann....great fit. i have wide feet at the balls of my feet and wide calves. I really liked the sidi's but they were too narrow for my feet. BTW the fox sizes are abit small through 2014 but they got them closer to typical sizing for 2015.

I went ahead and bought 2015 Fox Instinct's. They are incredibly comfortable even right out of the box. They have plenty of adjustability for large calfs.

I bought a new pair on line, they didn't open up enough for me. Looked to be awesome boots, but I had to send them back.

Rick M. I agree with your comment even though it seems to have been pulled. I am working on that. Thanks for your input.
