Semi-related, I heard a couple good ones for friends not showing up to race in the first place.
One guy said he had just washed his truck and didn't want to get it dirty.

Another dude who would tow his bike behind some slammed, fancy AMG whatever said the
gas cap door on his $100k car wouldn't open so he couldn't put gas in. Though true, it
just smacked as weak AF. hhahaha

I use these all the time "I'm out of shape, I don't ride enough, I can't breathe, I'm too old for this, I'm not fast enough, I ate too much for breakfast, I didn't eat enough for breakfast ...." really my list can go on and on!
