Goodday All,
My name is Shaun Pautz. I used to be a FMF mechanic and in 1999 did a lot of work with the Riddle family. In this time we became good friends. I have since returned to Cape Town, South Africa.
The numbers I have for Ben no longer work. Could anyone please help me out with a contact email for either Steve, Paty or McKenzie or at least pass on my email shaun@helibase.com
Please mail me.
Best Regards
Shaun

The Shop
as a motojunkie that loves keeping track of the mega "what happened"...he's just a yard sale.
like i posted a month ago, rick simmitt and his ultra cool flo orange axo gear that won the world mini in 86....he just dropped out after a pc sx tour in 88. but he;s great and has a reg life as a fishing addict.
Hopefully he wont do all of the 10 years, maybe 5-6? then get out in parole and resume a productive life, and stay away from bad influences.
Good luck to Ben, during your incarceration, and especially after
Does that mean he was pushing drugs in jail or just a lingering charge?
Does convicted date mean the date he started his jail term?
Sucks to see this happen to Ben.
Npw back to my earlier question, can anyone help me with a contact for Ben's folks or even Mackenzie?
He would go out on a 125 2 stroke with Ryan Sipes on an 85 and they would lay down the fastest laps of the day!!
In the day he was an unreal talent and I wish him nothing but the best. I hope he can turn this around and learn from it.
Shaun .. Don't count on him getting to SA any time soon. This country likes to make it real hard for their felons to ever get out of the country. Ben will be lucky to ever get out of the system let alone out of the country.
Pit Row
But when you take it to trial and lose, the prosecutor will always recommend the maximum sentence and sometimes they get it. What is even more crazy up in Oregon if you get caught growing indoor...they just don't weight the plant itself ,they weight the entire planter with the dirt in it which makes it look worse in front of a jury. I have a good friend who worked undercover as a dope cop in Hillsboro Oregon for several years.....
Once they give someone a slap on the wrist a couple of times and the person has a record, then they can really shaft them when they bust them again.
I wonder if Ben was offered a deal from the state of Kentucky and then turned it down ,then went to trial and lost.....10 years seems pretty dam harsh for 5lbs.
I live in Louisiana and my best friend got busted with a gram in his truck a few months ago. He had to go to court, pay a ton of fines, and he has to get tested 8 times randomly over the next 6 months. If he fails any of the tests, he goes to jail for 6 months! Just for a gram.
I know in Louisiana, trafficking gets you 5-30 years!
Then in other countries like Amsterdam or Canada (and Australia?) it's like another completely different world with how weed is perceived.
Laws towards smoke in the US are archaic.
Man, 10 years. It blows my mind that a guy so talented and with a strong likelihood of either having a great moto career as a rider or even working in the industry can suddenly become a complete wreck and end up doing a 10 year bit in prison. Scary shit.
The question is, What in the hell happened to him for him to choose to go down this path in life?
Im back in SA now, well connected and would like to give something back to Ben if the system will allow. People make mistakes ( i have done so myself) We learn and move forward, help others from doing the same. Team186, again I thank you for your words. Gave me real hope that there are people out there that care and understand. We stand together and support each other.
My email is shaun@helibase.com
Thanks again all.
Best Regards
Shaun
Take care
Shaun
