Barcias problem..

According to Matthes and JT on the Moto:60 show, Barcia was testing different bikes before A1 and is trying hard to get a deal done ASAP.

Thomas had a good theory on this basically saying he could have really liked one of the bikes he was testing (better than his Honda) and it could be effecting him mentally.

Anyone think this could be why he struggling right now?

I do have that vibe that he is not getting along with his bike.

Reed probably pulled him aside, and said "you got to jump ship and ride for me on this Kawi Bro."

What bikes was he testing? Bike issues plus not being the top dog in this stacked class affecting mindset? These dudes aren't scared of banging bars this year. He will learn eventually

How can he test other bikes under contract? Is there a clause that allows that to happen or is it just something that happens?

It's the dual pipes! Is anyone doing well on the new 450s? Reed is a pretty experienced rider. If he is smart enough to jump ship I would say it is the bike. We will see when/if Eli is a 10th place guy on the honda.

Can someone update me on his contract situation? I thought he had a Honda contract for this year signed a while ago; why would he be testing other bikes with at least a year left?

It's all mental. IMO when things aren't going his way, he isn't able to regroup or maintain composure as well as others. His frustration causes mistakes, which lead to more mistakes.

Rch are having problems with their riders.. Would be a good opportunity for them to get a better rider if Barcia can break his contract..

That would seem odd, because to me he looked his best at A1, and has struggled a bit since then.

On the other hand, he had this as a message on his bar pad last week...
