Whats with all these people saying "learn how to control the power, throttle control, he can't handle it blah, blah, blah". Did you guys ever think maybe theres a different issue going on? Especially with the holeshot situation going on last night. Maybe forgot to hit the map switch...They spend countless hours and days testing these bikes seems very hard to grasp he just "can't handle the power" I don't think so.

I think he was just late off the gate and grabbed to much throttle trying to make up too much too soon.

Whiskey throttle off the start???? Com'on man...... These guys are pros. How many starts do the practice a day????? I was hoping that his holeshot device broke or something....

Dear Barcia,
I have not lost faith yet......... yet.

Sincerely,

I think they should ban all holeshot devices and leave it up to the rider to control the bikes...

Can you just not be a butthurt fanboy though? These pro riders are incredible but to act like they all have perfect technique is just moronic People need to stop being so defensive when someone says something about a rider. It's like they hear "Justin Barcia is scum of the Earth and he's no good on a dirt bike" when really all DV said was he needs to be a little smoother.

Big Barcia fan but I couldn't help but laugh that all week we're discussing on here that the bike is too powerful then low and behold, he almost loops it out on the start. Just seems so fitting.

you ASSUME it was the 'holeshot device' that caused the problem.... dont want to blame the person twisting the throttle and controlling the clutch?

Did you ever think maybe we don't need to make excuses for Barcia because he just isn't the fastest guy?

"maybe forgot to hit map switch" so they make the bike slower on the start, and then turn it back up for the rest of the 3rd gear track? got it bro

x 4000000000 bazillion.

WTF is the point of them if EVERYONE runs it.

There's no advantage, just increases the speed to the first turn.

No holeshot devices would be badass, they would actually have to use technique and throttle control to keep the front wheel down....

It really surprises me how bad Barcia is doing the last two years. He absolutely dominated in the 250 SX class (even Roczen had nothing on him). I think he won 6 out of 8 races and the other two he was on the podium as well. His first year 450 class, he won like the second round or something?

And now he just absolutely struggles to get a podium Blink I think it's more confidence-wise than technique- or bike-wise ... His technique could be infected by his confidence problem though ... I also give DV12 credit for his comments.

I would like to see him get out front and see what happens. Get a top 5 start and go from there. The tracks all have been "startercross".

Boom. I think someone FINALLY figured out Barcias "problem"... How many times has 250 top riders gone to the 450 class just to fade away & be another rider? Same with badass amateurs going to the pros? Not everyone wins at the next level unfortunately, thats just how it goes.

Barcia is one of my favorite riders, but I can except the fact that he's not cutting it in the big boy class at the moment. I keep waiting for the break through, but I'm definitely not gonna get butt hurt when people say things about his riding. That's just lame. We're not friends, so I'm not gonna cry like some other guys do like he's their boyfriend that someone's talking bad about. LaughingLaughingSilly

In just 2 races he hasn't gotten good starts but he's passed a shitload of riders compared to others out there.

Karma and a fan of the Alessi's you believe in. If karma was true your boys would be bacon at a Muslim rally. What a douche Booby.

A few people have fought their way back from bad starts to end up in good finishing position. Maybe not from 20th to 1st, but I think Bowers went from 15th or so to 4th at Phoenix. I think if youre fast enough, you will make passes and get to the front regardless.

He hasnt passed the riders that matter and hd's looked like shit since he's been on 450's. I'm a JGR fan and a fellow New Yorker.... I'm rooting for the kid, but Villopoto and Vuillemin saying he doesnt ride the 450 well is probably true. Doesnt mean the kid's not fast as fck just needs to tweak his throttle control if he wants to run w Tomac and Roczen.

Sorry to say it but he's past his sell by date now, and isn't the same BAMBAM we remember from his 250 days. Happens to a lot of riders, and JB is one of them.
