Awesome to see him having fun on his bike!

Those guys needed a win, badder than a hog needs slop.

I was cheering and yelling throughout the entire 2nd Moto for Bam Bam. Not only was it his first 450 class win Outdoors, but he also won the Overall for the weekend along with it! 3-1 is a great. People on here can hate all they want, but he did everything right this weekend. Hopefully this will boost his confidence and get him fired up for the 2nd half of the season.
Just trivia: Southwick 2011 as fill in rider won 450 Moto2. I believe the first moto both Barcia and Reed's bikes had mechanicals while they were top 5. 2011 Barcia was the only rider other than RV2 or RD5 to win a moto with BM24 taking OA. Also last USA MXDN rider to win OA.

I'm not at all a fan...but I'm glad Barcia got a win, even though it was on a mudder track, and the points leader biffed, and got stuck in the slop. No excuses though. He won fair & square. This is bound to help his confidence!
No excuses, except these few I just typed... LaughingWink

Back to the thread topic, Holy Shit did Justin put on a clinic in that 2nd moto or what!? I'm a big fan of Barcia but I fully expected Pourcel to give him a lot more trouble. A ride like that just HAS to lift your spirits and for those questioning whether Dungey would have out rode him in the 2nd moto I'm not so sure.

For some reason Barcia looked like he does on press days yesterday. When you see him on press day he seems so smooth and has great flow on the track (I know its smooth, but still). I always think nobody can ride faster than that. Then on raceday he seems tight and makes a lot of mistakes and seems to fade at the end of moto's. Yesterday in the mud, he was on point. On a tricky track he was downsiding jumps perfect and making very little mistakes in the corners and off cambers. I guess it just shows how mental the game is at that level.

Agree with Stewie. Long and strong.
Shaving is the gateway to pussification.
Wearing a necktie is the next step.
Clearing one's garage of all motorcycles is the final step.
Don't encourage further pussification of the male gender.

Yeah could be the confidence he needs. I'm looking forward to 'Dilla. Pourcel and Barcia are going to challenge Roczen and dungey there.

I agree with you that Barcia hasn't proven himself on a dry track to run up there with Dungey and Roczen. However, I was impressed with Justin's throttle control in mud and hope he can utilize that technique on drier surfaces. People wrote Pourcel off even though there was no question that his smooth riding style is a perfect fit for a 450f. Great finishes boost confidence.
I agree with you that they cant run with them on a dry track most times, but Unadilla is a different animal. Pourcel rides out of his mind there, although it may only be for the first moto. If he starts in front of those guys I think he can hold them off for most the race if not all of it.

Barcia does well at 'Dilla too. Hometrack and he went 4-2 for second o/a behind Villopoto last time there.

He just had to roost those random people on the way to the podium... I guess that's the only way he knows how to express his feelings, good or bad, by roosting people Woohoo

So was Langston the last guy to win an overall on Yamaha?
Matt Goerke was the last Yamaha winner in the 450 class at Southwick in 2009 when he was a fill in rider with Factory Yamaha. Earlier in the 2009 season Josh Grant also won Red Bud for JGR.

Yamahas last 450 moto win was 2010 in Lakewood CO when Josh Grant won the first moto.
