That first one you have listed looks like a rear only, not a set.

Tallon/Excel

The DNA's bend easily with a fast rider, I've seen them come back in after a ride looking like clown car wheels.

I agree with these guys above Mick.....I would stay away from the DNA wheel sets. From what I've seen the hubs aren't too bad if you replace the wheel bearings.....but the spokes and especially the rims are very soft for any kind of an aggressive rider. It seems you need to chase the spokes ( tighten them up ) between every ride and they never settle down. I've always been partial to the Talon and Rad hub sets. There are other brand names out there that seem to be pretty dang good as well.

i have a set of TCR hubs and SM Pro platnium rims from Keith at KSRwheels.com. I highly recommend giving him a call and setting you up with something custom. Will give you a good deal.
i've never heard of the FasterUSA but they look really nice.
and dirtstars are just rims.

also, tusk wheels dont even come close to being high end. im pretty sure they are china made.

I second that. We use them on Michael Leib's Crf250. Bullet proof, light, and priced right.

At the end of the day you get what you pay for. You could take the cheaper ones now but 6 months later you have a bent up set of wheels and back to square 1 except this time youre 500 in the hole. Go with the A60 now and save yourself trouble in the future.

Nothing worse than spending money on equipment that wont last a whole year. Go for the Excel rims, they have superb quality and wont break down or change shape to an egg. And also, the re sale on Excel rims are really good.

I use to buy excels most of the time, the last time I bought RAD hubs with DID STX rims, they seem to holding up well with a year and a half on them so far. The stx seem to be on par with excel rims.

I recently bought a set of Excel rims with Talon hubs from DubyaUSA. They arrived in a hurry and are impeccable. Couldn't be happier!

Thanks I know I slept on it and want to get the best ones! The only thing is like tmauto said RAD hubs and DID rims are only $899. I guess if you think about it talon hubs and Excel are $1200 thats only 300 more for the best hub and rim. Or save 180 and go with fasterusa hubs. $1079.

Anyone run fasterusa hubs I saw a few post earlier ktm12 and DL that there awesome.

Thanks again guys I hate to be a pain in the zzz but want to make sure I get what I want!

The smpro wheels and hubs from Fasterusa are really strong, ive had them and I know quite a few people that have them. I also know at least 6 moto friends that are running the tusk set up and all of them are very happy with them. They look real nice in person and they are a bit heavy but for the money ($499) for a complete set is hard to beat.

I have run DID, SMPRO and Excel. If i would go new set i would get DID dirt star. If you want get best then go A60 or STX. SM Pro did get alot good reviews but color of rim is weak.
If you wanna save go to TUSK set. You ca run them 6months and if you havent keep up with spokes, worst case order another set and still you are in same price range.

not sure what everybody runs,....like I said I have the Tusk hubs, rims laced with bulldog spokes, cause I wanted blue nipples. I also have Talon hubs with excels.....rode them about 3 years.......yes they are great and yes they are expensive, yes I have a few flat spots on the rear rim..... both tusk and the talon excels hold the tires fine, both have held up to my riding (not a pro or even real fast), but I do case the occasion 90ft tableSmile Is one better then the other? to this point I cant tell the difference when riding and the talons look no "better then the Tusk. The get what you pay for argument......yeah your paying for their riders endorsement, your paying for their California taxes, and you paying for their name.....just use your common sense and do your research, you can get what you want...at gatorback I have seen a few of the "best" wheel sets fail....so it's all relative...

Best? Based on what I see in the heavy-hitter end of the pits every weekend? It'd be really hard to argue against Dubya.

2nd on the STXs...

Do you want bling....or pure function. I had TCR make me up set using stock hubs I bought on eBay, and replaced the bearings/seals on. DID STXs, Buchanan spokes and stock hubs. I would never pay all that extra money for colored billet hubs that are actually heavier than stock. But that is just me....

Did the bulldog spokes fit fine in the tusk hub?

I had FasterUSA build my last few sets and they are awesome. I used Excel A60s and they are still perfect after 20-25 hours.
