Hum, 4 years ! I would be pumped to see another rookie goes at it like BamBam or Tomac. Webb may also be a good one but I do not remember his first races. Anyway, no pressure, a healthy rookie season should be the first objective.

Having a group lunch with the guy that bet his left testicle that Stewart was coming back early from suspension.

Mitch has never been known to pay well, unless you are winning. I'd imagine it's half that much, but with very good bonus money.

I'm sure the bonuses for podium positions and a huge bonus for championship. Those are things that are usually always insured. If he had a big upfront yearly salary then not much you can do on that front.

I could see 150k salary and championship bonus of 500k. Maybe overall win bonuses of 25k for first, 10k for 2nd and 5k for 3rd on a per race basis. I believe team sponsors kick in for all this as well.

Just guesstimates....

If Mitch is signing the checks it would be a stretch for a 150K base, especially his first year.

He is a big believer in the "win/podium bonus" type of compensation package. He has been very vocal regarding this type of thing.

That is a myth, guys like Forkner and Ceincirillo get paid good. Guys that come to him don't.

Almost all of the riders made a lot more in the late 90's and early 2000's than they do now. Except for 3 or 4 of the top guys almost everyone makes far less than they did before the economy crashed. Is become extremely lopsided in regards to salaries these days.

I preface this with saying that I like Forkner and do think he will be a great pro and a nice addition to the scene

So everyone says there is a problem with C class. I think the root problem lies in the B class. These kids ride B class on factory supported bikes and here is an example of basically going straight from LL to Hangtown in the spring. 1/2 of the b class kids should have been running A class.... This trend of skipping A class is getting more predominant. For your average local fast guy (with maybe only a local shops support) trying to run B at Loretta is an exercise in futility, trying to battle factory bikes that should be in the A class

Should there be a rule that you can't ride B class and gain a Pro license in consecutive years?

Move more kids to A and move more kids from C to B

Signed at LL after the first motos from the sounds of it. Good for Austin, hope he comes out swinging at the outdoors next year.

The majority that I saw posting about future GEICO rides said Sexton was a Honda rider soon, and Forkner was a possibility. Sexton is a given at this point after the showing this year from their current rider.. Proof that being top of the class doesn't mean top of the talent.

It's only fitting that they signed him, FC would have been disappointing. I hope he can live up to the hype...so many haven't lately.

So you are saying that the top kids should be forced to go from Supermini, straight to A?

The rules on how to gain a pro license through the Pro Am system are clear. Forkner will be 16 and will have his ProAm points by Hangtown.

The challenge with your idea is that you can't make the rules for the two or three exceptional kids and you can't make the exceptional kids follow a different set of rules.

FInally, there are tons of local fast guys with no support running B class at Lorettas. They are just not the kids who are winning 250B mod and Schoolboy 2.

He turns 17 in one month... Not that it makes a difference... The youngsters stay in Super till 16 sometimes...
There is no full sized bike "100" class anymore. There are no answers... I figure the full sized "100" didn't cost enough...

B & A classes are the same at the national level it appears...

ive always understood mitch to sign for around $50k and make them earn his money by great bonus programs....Pro circuit will be back, just a little slump in his program and bad luck....
