been noticing that too. Santa Clara looked pretty bad.....BUT, it is a huge stadium with 68,500 seats. Didn't look too good on TV though.

It's California. Lot's of other stuff to do. Plus everyone can DVR the main events and watch both in under 25 minutes.

Don't kid yourself. There's never "lots of other stuff to do" when there are other sports or concerts or whatever nonsense that routinely sell out stadiums in California. One or two hundred thousand something people come out to Over the Line on July 4th every year, and that's the stupidest thing on earth. The bad format that makes close races a rarity is finally showing it's effects, and the fans aren't shelling out their money to see follow the leader anymore. Nobody with any influence has ever wanted to deal with it, and the pitiful attendance is proof they should have .
Sorry for ranting.

A mate of mine flew in from Australia yesterday and flies home tomorrow just to experience a Supercross in the states.

Well, the 49ers play there so that might be a problem.

I think it looked emptied than it was, been going to Oakland and sf rounds since they started. This was my first Levi stadium race. It's now my favorite. The joint is huge and run efficiently.

Not only did attendance in the stands look low , the rider count in each class was like 43. Worst of the year. That area only needs one Supercross if that and I see that happening as Houston and Minneapolis should be coming back.

The way I count, that's the sixth SX race in CA, so far in 2016.

4th venue, 6th race in CA. Thats just to many. I think a 17 race schedule is to long.

Anaheim 2 was pretty depressing, too.

Between heats, semis etc. there are 10 races every night. It's a little much. The system needs an overhaul. Heats can be boring because there are only a few of the top riders. Maybe there could be a system that is more exciting.

Here's to hoping they bring minneapolis back next year, not sure what the anticipated completion for the new stadium is.

Title is wrapped up which equates to frieght train riding which results in lack of interest.

You can't compare a supercross race to anything on 4th of July. Not even in the same league.

It's late in the season, too many races overall, and too many in Cali, and too much TV and online viewing that is the culprit imo. Too much of a good thing.

But factories save huge money, I would think, with the California races. So not sure adding more races further away would go well with them.

If you guys got to experience the parking situation after the race, you would've thought the stadium had been full.

Is all racing attendance down? Indy car yesterday had about 4 people there yesterday, Martinsville/nascar right now maybe 80%, which is one of the best smash up derbys on the circuit.....football, Attendance seemed down last year also

Minneapolis attendance was terrible when they came , people don't want to spend 100 s of dollars and drive many miles to watch one 14 min main event in the big boy class. The powers to be need to get there head out of there ass and make some changes immediately or this sport is doomed. I don't mean it will go away but our live coverage will be out the door first. And that would suck

Do we think there is any correlation between the ticket prices and/or Live coverage and attendance?

All of the California venues prices are 50% higher than they were 5 years ago.

You have Boston and New York Supercross's coming up and that will tell you if it's a California thing or a price thing.

Ask Feld how that second Atlanta race went last year?

Yeah. If they'd let us bring in glass bottles and beer it would be full. Such BS.

Nailed it....A lot of people are sitting on their wallets these days and live TV makes it easy to do so. As for those who want to change the format to make it more exciting, How short are you going to make it? Dungey has had the series by the balls since race 2.

I'm not loving the semis either. I was happy when they came back but I'm over them now. I dvr and always skip the semis.
