It's pretty much a new 2007 CR250, someone is going to pick it up for that price.

I have trouble following the logic of someone that would pay close to the price for an actual new bike for a 9 year old bike that isn't made anymore.

I will say that thing looks immaculate, There are probably a good number of people that would LOVE to start with such a clean platform, and would be willing to pay the money. They technology really isn't that out of date, besides the suspension maybe. Throw the restyled plastics on there, an exhaust, new rotors, and fresh rubbers and you have a CHERRY bike, that will be pretty damn competitive.

I've had a dozen or so old dirt bikes that traded in the $10,000.00 - $55,000.00 range so I guess I don't understand your anger. I have one I'll sell for $85,000.00 at the moment if it will help.

We will never know but I highly doubt he gets anywhere near that for it. Maybe 3500 or 4000.

Wonder how much the very first Cannondale motorcycle would sell for. I know the person who has it. Smile

Not sure why you guys act like it's that absurd of a price. It's pricey, yes, and I don't know if I'd pay it if I had the cash, but it's not insane to ask close to brand new price for what is essentially still a new bike. And they're good motorcycles by the most prestigious manufacturer in the game (some could say HD, but I'm thinking worldwide).

There are two different values to be considered. The value to a collector could be significantly higher than it would be to somebody who wanted to purchase the bike to ride or race with.

It is worth exactly what someone is willing to pay for it. The 2007 Honda seller will find out soon enough.

Yeah, it was new... in 2007. Now, there are newer bikes with newer technology that can be had brand new at about a grand more.

Price doesnt seem out of line. I sold a mint cr500 for almost that. Wasn't even looking to sell it. Someone saw it, and made an offer.

There's one local, I believe an 05 CR250, listed for $7000. Nothing special about the bike at all and the guy is even cocky in the add stating that he knows what he has and to not waste his time with lowball offers.
I recently picked up a much nicer 03 for $1900.
