Seems like a cool way to trap water in there. Ala spoke wraps.

I bet they have a sealant in them on the ends that keeps the water out? they have them for electrical wiring it works really well.

Wow, that's a neat idea. I'm keen to get a set given the fork tubes (gold parts) on the CR250 budget bike I got are completely knackered. I was going to use this carbon wrap but I hate the adhesive. I looked around and you can get 50mm heat shrink wrap for $4 per 30cm (so $8 for both forks) compared to $40 AUD for a set + shipping for the forkshrink product. I think I'll just try out the cheap alternative and put some spare Showa fork stickers over the top.
