And I mean ALL their hearing. Happened to me in 87, bike landed on my head and cracked a new shoei VX3 "I think VX3" in two places. I couldn't hear a THING. I'm talking nothing. I picked my bike up and it ripped out of my hands because the throttle was stuck wide open. Medics were talking to me and all I saw was lips moving. Only lasted a minute or two, but came back cutting in and out. Five minutes later I was fine. Raced the 2nd moto. Not even a headache. 24 yrs ago and I still remember seeing lips move with no sound. I still have the helmet... Smile

I've seen sparks and heard ringing a bunch of times, but never lost all hearing. That I know of?

I was knocked out cold in Arizona and don't remember the next hour or so. Rode the bike back with a fender in my hand and proceeded to repeat myself for the next hour over and over.

Did the same but for 4 hours. Had a heavy concussion 4 weeks before, probably shouldn't have been riding

I hit my head so hard one time that it caused me to use the word "there" when I really meant "their".

Fractured my skull 15 years ago, was in a coma for four days-- still stone deaf in my left ear. Lost about 50 IQ points in the process too.

Had my bell rung good in football. I haven't hit my head that hard again.

I remember standing in the middle of the track at Washougal and wondering why everybody was yelling at me once.

I had crashed big and when I got up I wasn't sure where I was and it was a similar thing. I could see everybody yelling and waving their arms but nothing was registering. I wasn't completely deaf, but I couldn't hear either. It was like the day the world mumbled.

A couple years ago at Milestone I came over a blind double out of a corner and right as I came over the top of the jump I saw two bikes and riders scattered all across the track. Landed right on the dudes bike, wacked my head and smashed my collar bone. I remember it all and never went out but I remember laying there and everyone was shouting "are you alright?". I could hear everything but for a good 30 seconds I completely lost my vision and all I saw was bright white. Slowly started fading back in with stars and such. Took a good 2-3 minutes for it to go back to normal...

A Kawasaki dealer in Lubbock told me that he and a buddy were jumping back and forth over a creek when he lost it, went over the bars and tumbled end over end. Said when he stopped rolling, he was sitting on his butt. Vision was blurred and couldn’t hear anything. He decided to stand up, and when he did he came up out of the water.

Lawn darted once and lost all vision for a little over a minute (seemed like an hour). During that minute all I could think was "well dumbfuck, now you've done it, hope someone with good taste picks out my sunglasses'.

At a LL qualifier back in '02, got tangled up with somebody on the face of a double and thats all I remember. Woke up under my bike on the landing and had double vision (felt like my eyes wouldn't come un-crossed) for an hour or so.

If it's happened, I don't remember!

I did hit my head once on the first ride on a new bike. Was pretty cool being told that was my new bike over and over and over for the next couple hours.

Same thing happened to me Mike, my first day on my 83 YZ80, carted HARD about 4th or 5th gear pinned. I was OUT. My best friend was right on the scene and he said i kept coming too and asking how my old bike (82 RM80) was, then going back out, i dont remember anything.

I came to laying on the couch in the lodge at Hollister Hills with my girl holding an ice park on my hip. When i opened my eyes everything was black and my vision slowing came in. The scary part was that i rode my bike back to the lodge and have zero memory of it.

I believe Magoo crashed and hit his head on a fence post, knocking himself out and losing his hearing in one ear.

I hit my head so hard I couldn't see colors once. The medics said it was brain swelling. The pressure built up against my eyes was causing it. It wasn't like you would expect though. Everything wasn't shades of gray. It was all super bright and blurry. Anyway, my point is, if your hearing was gone after a crash like that Im betting the same problem. Brain trying to release pressure with nowhere to go.

It wasnt a fence post, it was a telephone pole! it was right in his backyard, it also broke his jaw, was a very scary crash and he was lucky it happened where it did so people could get to him immediately.

Should of seen the stereo he had in his house! We had a party one night and got complaints from neighbors that lived about a 1/2 mile away!!! Many good times up at his house!
