Hey guys has anyone heard any update for when the '16's will be hitting the dealer floors?
Last thing I heard was over a month ago in which the estimate was mid August, but I recently heard someone else say that's been pushed back to September now.
Anyone have a more updated or solid time frame?

350f en 450f are available in most county's in Europe. The 250f en 125 not so. We got 1.. but the second for our dealer wil be delivered end of august. Seems some problem with 250f engines blowing up after 2 hours, but that's only a rumor. Don't want to make panic. We will run in the 1e this weekend, 2 hour mark somewhere next week....

Local dealers out here on the east coast are almost all confirmed in September.

The engines blowing up on the 250f's is a rumor for sure. Spoke to one of mu buddies, a KTM tech, and not a word from the editors with bikes or the bike my buddy has (250FE) having any issues.

I wouldn't worry about it unless you plan to ride it without oil. haha

I had heard from a buddy that works at a very large dealer, that they had more than a handful of 16 FE's sitting in their service department needing some serious work...Now either people suck at maintenance, or something else is going on...

I was lucky enough to ride them at KTM dealer day, There was talks of mid july then august and so on. Not quite sure when they are hitting the showroom. Badass bikes tho, Cost is to steep for me in my opinion.

I just posted something similar in another thread. My dealer was initially telling me july/aug and then received his final allotment from ktm....not until sept now. Yet, I have seen some dealers in Mich and Canada getting them in so who knows.

So Johnny Know-it-all...the 15.5 FE are essentially the 16's. But you already knew that didn't you. haha

Sept. 1 is a good bet on dealers getting their bikes. Anything earlier is like like Christmas coming early.

I am not surprised the 250SXFs are blowing up, here is a dyno a local tuner put out from a 2015.5 250SXF FE, it revs all the way to 14000rpm with just a little head porting, fuel and map.....13HP more than a stock Honda 250F.

how could a bike that isnt even on showroom floors be blowing up? We took a '16 250 home from the dealershow and have had zero issues. same for the 2 15.5 FE250f we sold. other then a MINOR oil seap on the ignition cover oil port screw. There are little quirks in the bikes that could be better but these new KTMs are by far the best production bikes, performance-wise (chassis/motor) ever made.

As for release dates, we recieved xc-w and excs a few weeks ago and a shipment of a dozen SX and XCs should be here (New Jersey) any day.

MY local dealer Motosport Hillsboro as of Friday had 3 x 2015.5 250 FEs. I was surprised to see one and was told about the other two.

I'm still waiting on my 450. I'm being told sometime in September. They can't be any more specific about when in September until about the middle of August.

So you're comparing a ported, mapped, race hooch bike with a stocker? Come on bro....

Love Honda's or something?

The new KTM factory edition (and 2016 model) is without a doubt the fastest production bike made. And they found power where it was needed in a big way, down low.

The stock power curve has an odd 'hole" to it - but it's up on power everywhere from last years model - and depending on what kawasaki you get (we've never had one be much over 40 hp in stock form despite MXA saying they make 42 in 2014), the ktm isn't just a little bit more powerful.

Every dyno is certainly different - we built ours and made it read closely to mxa because everyone loves to quote them. After that - it' just used for percentage comparison.
The dyno shown above is owned by Jesse - his is higher than ours, the new yz250f I think is 3.5-4 hp higher than we read.

Anyways - this is how our tests have gone of the factory edition - it's a great motor - and in tear down - while it runs MUCH better than last years model - the parts are all VERY similar. If people are having reliability issues - which we HAVENT seen on any around here - it's just a bad part common to manufacturing on any bike....remember all the bad mouthing the yz250f got when it came out - been a pretty good bike for 90 percent of it's consumers.

Here is is with some simple work and VP Pro6 vs stock, Usually pro 6 is worth around 1.5 for us - sometimes closer to 2 if mapping is tuned in well and a good batch of fuel.

We tested the new fmf system for it available through ktm- the pipe dynod MUCH better WITH the insert installed vs without insert- at least for peak power - as it lost power vs stock without the insert.
I tested the pipe about a week later on a blend of fuel that wasn't as good as the fresh pro6 first tested - but we baselined on stock pipe before swapping pipe with the gas in the tank.

Then with the insert installed - which was not bad at all.

The stock honda off the showroom and broken in (as high as it will ever get) makes 38 for us. the stock yz makes 40-40.5

All the new ktm's should be called the silent assassins in honor of andrew short - as they are all really quiet stock. With the insert installed - they will have no trouble passing the stricter sound rules coming in. And they make great power. Perception isn't always reality - loud isn't always faster.

KTM had a smattering of tranny issues mostly with supercross or arenacross riders. They dont use any sort of cushion spring on the clutch basket - and the gears get shock loaded bad. This may still be an issue for this new FE - but time will tell....as most amatuers don't have problems (most don't hit true SX whoops)

Nice, that 125 sure seems to fall off the pipe easy. I was going to head out to PV and test them out, but decided I will wait for the 2017 250SX Tongue

I called them in the spring about putting a deposit down for one and they wanted an arm and a leg for them... If they would have worked with me a bit more, I would have bought one there...

I really like all the guys in the service department there, but the sales team have rubbed me the wrong way a few times...

I haven't rode a small bore two stroke in a few years I forgot how much the clutch had to be used. The order of the video is 125-150-250(two)-250(four)-350-450 and then a few 125/150 clips.
