Hey guys has anyone heard any update for when the '16's will be hitting the dealer floors?
Last thing I heard was over a month ago in which the estimate was mid August, but I recently heard someone else say that's been pushed back to September now.
Anyone have a more updated or solid time frame?

I wouldn't worry about it unless you plan to ride it without oil. haha
The Shop
Sept. 1 is a good bet on dealers getting their bikes. Anything earlier is like like Christmas coming early.
As for release dates, we recieved xc-w and excs a few weeks ago and a shipment of a dozen SX and XCs should be here (New Jersey) any day.
Pit Row
The new KTM factory edition (and 2016 model) is without a doubt the fastest production bike made. And they found power where it was needed in a big way, down low.
The stock power curve has an odd 'hole" to it - but it's up on power everywhere from last years model - and depending on what kawasaki you get (we've never had one be much over 40 hp in stock form despite MXA saying they make 42 in 2014), the ktm isn't just a little bit more powerful.
Every dyno is certainly different - we built ours and made it read closely to mxa because everyone loves to quote them. After that - it' just used for percentage comparison.
The dyno shown above is owned by Jesse - his is higher than ours, the new yz250f I think is 3.5-4 hp higher than we read.
Anyways - this is how our tests have gone of the factory edition - it's a great motor - and in tear down - while it runs MUCH better than last years model - the parts are all VERY similar. If people are having reliability issues - which we HAVENT seen on any around here - it's just a bad part common to manufacturing on any bike....remember all the bad mouthing the yz250f got when it came out - been a pretty good bike for 90 percent of it's consumers.
Here is is with some simple work and VP Pro6 vs stock, Usually pro 6 is worth around 1.5 for us - sometimes closer to 2 if mapping is tuned in well and a good batch of fuel.
We tested the new fmf system for it available through ktm- the pipe dynod MUCH better WITH the insert installed vs without insert- at least for peak power - as it lost power vs stock without the insert.
I tested the pipe about a week later on a blend of fuel that wasn't as good as the fresh pro6 first tested - but we baselined on stock pipe before swapping pipe with the gas in the tank.
Then with the insert installed - which was not bad at all.
The stock honda off the showroom and broken in (as high as it will ever get) makes 38 for us. the stock yz makes 40-40.5
All the new ktm's should be called the silent assassins in honor of andrew short - as they are all really quiet stock. With the insert installed - they will have no trouble passing the stricter sound rules coming in. And they make great power. Perception isn't always reality - loud isn't always faster.
KTM had a smattering of tranny issues mostly with supercross or arenacross riders. They dont use any sort of cushion spring on the clutch basket - and the gears get shock loaded bad. This may still be an issue for this new FE - but time will tell....as most amatuers don't have problems (most don't hit true SX whoops)
