I'm toying with the idea of buying one to do trail rides and muck around on.

Would love to know if any of you "adults" ride these little beasts and would they haul my fat ass around.

I'm 6ft and 200lbs.

They are not reliable trail machines when a 200 pound rider is on them. Why do you want to do this? You aren't short....

I raced a supermini until I was 16. It wasn't a lot of fun

The last season I was on my 85 I was about 150 something. Could still hit the same triple that I used to, just cased it a little bit.

All my riding buddies don't race. I thought it would be fun chasing them down on a 85 when they are on enduro 450's.

I bought a 125 for this reason but it was to fast. Maybe It would be easier to tell my buddies to pull their finger out! Laughing

If you are that big it would be a lot safer to be on a 125. Learn to manage the throttle on a full size bike rather than getting on something that doesn't fit you. Believe it or not those little bikes can be scary to hold onto when they are that small.

I still ride my old KX100 that a raced, every week. I'm 5 10 200lbs and have a blast each time. I feel I'd break it in the woods. But feel great on a motocross track

If you are wanting to just mess around and make your buddies look bad on the trails in the process, then I would get a crf50 or klx110. Or one of those sized bikes from any manufacturer. Build a bad ass pit bike and tear up the trails! It's a nice feeling to have fat old dudes on atv's and rhino's pull over thinking a guy on a 450 is hauling ass and then you just pass by on a pit bike! lol

I raced a KX100 until I was 13. It was a 1998 model. I was 6' tall and around 135lb. It sucked dude. The YZ125 that I moved up to was far better for me. The little KX was just too small and at your weight it's going to be seriously underpowered.

Dude I can't believe noneya suggested a crf150r big wheel ... I'm 6-'3 and about 190lbs and for me, that would be the ultimate mini\pitbike. My buddy worked for white bros and was they built a 180 big bore full race engine the thing put out 33hp it was a such a badass mini bike for sure ,,,;;;;;the crf150R Gets my vote hands down and I want one!!!!!

This was back in the early 2k, mostly La Miss area ( gulfsouth)i cant recall all the track names. Road at the Gulfport track a lot.

I bought my wife a KX100 years back so I took it out to a track somewhat frequently (5'6" and 160 pounds). At my size, it was really fun and didn't give up much on 125s. The main issue for me was how pitch sensitive it was over big jumps. It nosed up or down really easily and never gave me confidence while hulking it. It never dumped me, but I just didn't like that feeling.

At your size, I'd guess that it would just suck. I think you'd be down on power and just generally uncomfortable.

Oh ok, gotcha. It seems like early 2000's was probably the height of that stuff. I tossed around the idea of buildin one last year, then once I really researched it and looked at how to do it properly with the right equipment, catch cans and hoses, all that, i then realized that it wasn't gonna be as easy as I thought. Then I had that lightbulb/I'm-a-dip-shit moment where I realized the closest place to do it was about 6 hours away and quickly figured out it wasn't gonna happen, haha

Good advice thanks. I wouldn't take it out on the track though. This would purely be for trail rides and embarrassing my enduro buddies.

Gather it would need some heavier springs both ends?

Thanks for the feedback team! Cool

Right: on the ground it was pretty fun. It pulled pretty hard and can obviously carve hard. I guess the wild card is how much of a penalty you'd pay based on your size/weight versus me.

Of course, if you really want to embarrass them, just take the 125 motor and shoehorn it into the 100. Or punch that 100 out to a 112 but neglect to mention it to your buddies. Man, you're F'd up Laughing

Most of the bikes I've bought, I've been able to ride them around in the neighborhood to make sure all was well. This could be a quick way to make sure the thing can still haul the mail with you on it.
