Josh Grant Out for Glen Helen
Racer X has learned that GEICO Powersports' Honda's Josh Grant will sit out the opening round of the 2008 AMA Toyota Motocross Championships at Glen Helen Raceway this weekend as a result of the concussion he received during practice at the Las Vegas SX. Grant crashed in a rhythm section and was landed on by another rider, resulting in his sitting out the East/West Shootout later that evening. He is hoping to ride the Hangtown National, Round 2 of the series, but doesn't feel fit to ride yet. Stay tuned for more details as the race approaches.

I understand Vegas isnt a points race, but it seems stupid to sit it out to race GH
Before the race even starts he is already down 50 points.
Pit Row
I heard second-hand that the rider who landed on Grant (I heard it was a KTM rider, but I'm not sure which one) didn't even look back to see how he was. Ouch. They red-flagged that practice.
What incentive did Stewart have to come back for Vegas? From the time of his surgery, the goal for him was always to come back for the outdoors. Even that is a fast turnaround.
Hepler's had a horrible string of luck. Here's hoping it gets better for him.
Why's Grant trying to shift for him?
Doesn't make much sense to me either why they would want to ride a non points SX unless there was a large purse or show money or something
And so do the guy's who win the titles. They just happen to be lucky that their spills they roll out of and don't get too knicked up.
Hanging it out causes crashes and injuries. Show the kids some respect for their go for it attitudes.
Why show up anywhere and not do you're best? Vegas is a big event for everyone, riders and sponsors and fans and old heroes........points or no points.
