They had an amateur supercross at Anaheim in 2002 or 2003ish. I didn't race, but so many people showed up to race, that even with the toned down track the amount of ambulance trips and injured riders the day started at 7am for practice and I heard it went well past midnight. Most of my friends that were there left before they even got to race.
They can be extremely popular and profitable if done right. I feel for the track crew though that now has another day of track building and quick turn around to the next city.

A 9-11 year old can race superman against riders up to 16 that are on up to 150cc 4 strokes, but they are limited to 85cc.
Same thing in the 250 and open classes. Minimum age is 12, but you can't ride a bike over 201cc until you are 14 or a bike over 201cc until you are over 16.
Maybe a 12 year old on a 125 wouldn't be too bad in the 250 classes, but seems kind of crazy to have them out there with 450 machines on a sx track.
One of them is called the Amsoil Dominator Supermini.
Mattyhamz2 I'd be in 250C, I'm not old enough for 25+ yet, a couple years off. I'm worried it's going to be a zoo out there and super sketchy, most guys in the class can ride really well when you get up near the front (regardless of what Vital thinks), but it's usually the biggest class and that many guys on a tight track like that could be pretty scary.
We bailed early, and ended up riding elsewhere
Raced the Dome, Cotton Bowl and TX Stadium on big bikes in late 80's. They would usually put a kicker in front of the triple so you couldn't jump it, or just knock down the 3rd one. Nothing else toned down. In '88 I thought I had a shot to win the B class in TX Stadium, and was on the line for my heat and my Dad says "Hey there's Jeff Emig!" "Where?" "Two spots down...he's in your class!"
Darn sand bagger...racing with us squids!
They were an absolute shit show. I can remember having practice at 7ish, 1 class at 2 PM, and the other class at like 9 at night. There were so many people, so many classes, so many ambulance rides, it was almost impossible to know when to get ready...at times the races got red flagged 2/3 times, and you would end up sitting in staging for like an hour and a half
Even as a 12 year old who dreamed of racing inside a stadium, I was ready to leave around noon.
Maybe I'm just jaded now, but you couldn't pay me to sign up for another one of those, just ain't worth it
Track was tamed down and sections cut off. 65’s could jump everything.
Was chaotic with not really knowing what was going on.
Probaly take my kid again this year
