I just got done restoring a friend of mines 1979 YZ 125. He is the original owner and I remember the day that he brought it home. I actually spent some time riding that bike. Even though he kept it all these years when I got it, it was in pretty bad shape. It took me about a year to finish it.
That would be a fun bike to play around on.

I wonder if the Simons stickers indicate some sort of Simons fork kit was installed as I don't remember them offering one for the 79 YZ125F model. Those aren't SImons and I would not be placing Simon stickers on my forks unless they were the real deal. That shock is ultra sweet though. I have an Al Baker modded F model shock and this does inspire what I could do with it. Very nice overall and will surely watch as surprisingly the bids are close to the Buy It Now but just $50 short??? Why wouldn't you just go ahead and throw in $50 and buy it?
Does anyone know who makes pipes for these 79 125’s? Many thanks
Just for the sake of a smile…
It’s awesome to be reminded of The Texas Bad Ass.
VMX is with a shot, might have PFR exhaust.
No stock at VMX. Also they’re crazy money!
Try Jemco Exhaust.

Every time I look at threads like this it makes me reflect on my thoughts growing up looking at older bikes thinking they looked trash and the latest thing was the greatest.
These restorations are incredible and look beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
