I am from New England and I moved out west to Oregon about 5 years ago. I didn't have that much fun on my bike in Oregon so I sold it. I had a 2006 RM250 that I rode for a couple years before I moved to Oregon and sold it. I am hoping I like this KTM 350, I have never rode one before and it's been years since I rode a 4 stroke.

I relocated down here to SoCal and I hope the tracks are a bit better here in CA . So tomorrow I am heading out to AV Motoplex. I have read it's not the best track but it looks pretty mellow and it's the closet to me that is open tomorrow. My plan is to start racing the REM series after I get some time on the bike.

Here's a few pics of my stuff ready to go. Wish I had a better camera but you get the idea.

Let us know how the 350 works. Die hard two stroke lover but looking at the new Husky 350. On the Husqvarna US website they are not even showing the 350 so I am wondering if it will be offered.

My sons Husqvarna CR125 has been a great bike and has worked out sweet moving up from 85's as he is small.

Well unfortunately I didn't make it. I was 26 minutes away (of a 1.5 hour ride) and my van died. It was my first long rode trip with this van and it died on a really long up hill grade. $300.00 tow home.

Oh well that's what I get for going vintage....but at least I know what other issues to address with it. There's always next weekend.

I work in the fire sprinkler industry. I just have recently been moving because I wasn't that happy with Oregon so I wanted to be in SoCal.

Bike: bad ass

Mystery machine: bad ass!!!

Let us know how you like it, been a lot of threads the past few weeks on them with most of us interested in how they run!

I had a 12 year layoff before I started riding again this year, I made it to the track and waited 2 motos before I actually started my bike. I was so nervous that my hands were shaking and I was nauseous.... By the second lap I pulled the trigger on the biggest table top and just grinned ear from ear!!!!

Have fun with it!!!!

Welcome back to riding!!!

Bummer man. Your profile says you live in Ventura, why didn't you just take the 40 minute (less than 30 miles) drive to Piru Motocross?

Man, sorry to hear about the van dying out. I'm a little surprised that you have a $500 van hauling a $7000+ bike in one of the hottest months of the year. Do you have a work truck? Good luck

Why did the van die?

I hope to do this soon. I haven't ridden my 250 in over 3 years, I think. I don't even know right now

So far it appears to be ignition related. I haven't dove deeply into it yet. I will be upgrading it to electronic for sure.

I do have a work truck but I want to get this van dialed in to use instead.

I wasn't even hot yet being it was only 8 in the morning when it happened.

Gotcha. Van is pretty cool, though. It looks like you could have possibly unloaded your bike right there and rode those trails in the back ground.

I had one of those flat glass Chevy vans not too long after I got out of high school. The guy I bought it from had put a Chevy V-8 in it with a automatic trans. It overheated every time I went to Indian Dunes in it. We started taking extra fluids with us just in case. Fun times....

Love the bike shots. Man I would love to be able to go riding again. Last time I rode was 20 years ago this weekend. Family obligations caused me to give it up but I could do it now but at 59 I'm not sure my beat up bod could take the abuse.

Post what you think of Piru after you ride there. I'm in Oxnard so that is pretty close. Wink

i broke down on the way to go riding one time, unloaded my bike and went riding for a couple hours in totally new (to me) country right off the highway and had a blast.
