My best race ever was at Kenworthy's in 1993 I believe. 125 C class I lapped 2nd place and won by something like 6 minutes.

It was a ridiculous mud race that took me 45 minutes to complete. I hate the mud but was able to beat A riders in the mud, where on dry ground they smoked me.

While it might have been a fun track to ride, and certainly has some history, it sucked to watch a national there.

It was like spectating at a hare scramble.

You could only see the riders as they came by whereever you were fortunate enough to get close enough to the fence to watch.

It is ashamed with all the beautiful land up in Ohio that Kenworthy's is where the National got stuck.

ohio needs another national. the ama and motorcyle hof being in ohio, youd think they would want one here.

Thanks JB! Man I just got goose bumps when it loaded. I love that track. We made the trip for every National after we moved from Pataskala to GA. I also just thought of the last race I went to there with my buddy JD Collins. Does Don have anything to do with the land there anymore??? I say we go clean up the limbs and trees and run the spring grass race!

How the mighty have fallen. Some of the trees did too... Smile
Ger those pics near brought a tear to my eye. I hate seeing National caliber tracks end up like that (or worse end up like Carlsbad...)

Whilst I have never attended an AMA National (yet), Kenworthys was one of my favourite tracks to watch on TV.

Man, JD was a good dude. Give you the shirt of his back even if he was freezing.

And the famous grass races.........always good times. And I can still hear the sprinkler system running the night before like it was yesterday.

And Guy Cooper being the first guy on the track every national weekend.......

not to dig up old threads but i live in dayton about 25 mins away and was wondering how did you get permission to walk the property? i actually stopped and talked to some kenworthy kids that were farming one day a couple years ago and they said that they wished they could let me look around but were affraid that there grand father would get pissed ..lol and as I understand Fultons owns it now? and i was thinking of contacting them and seeing if i could spend an hour and walk around and take some pictures , id love to be able to see the place one last time ... as sad of a state its in now, i just wanna see it

Pics are sad... I have vague, but great, memories from running around that track as a little kid with my bros popping little Jr woodies over dirt cycle racing and chicks in bikini tops. Haha, good times...
