I owned one back in 89. Fucking thing had an air leak in the intake boot and almost killed me when it dieseled on me.
The corner worker got the shit shocked out of him when he tried to pull the plug wire off. He got it off and it kept running. Wide open. Finally shut the gas off and it died after about 30 seconds. Sold that thing so fast.

Is it for sale? Easy to restore Honda and Yamaha's from that era. Kawi's not so much.

On a side note today at our company was our annual drug testing day. Tomorrow will probably be annual unemployment line day for some. lol

Dude, your avatar makes the story that much better.

And Bob I don't wanna work for a company that runs people off on 4/20 for enjoying a little bit of Mother Nature. Should we all pop pills instead?

That's a bad bike! They can be made to work good. I rode with a guy back in 90 who had one and rode the dog out of it. It was his main bike and he could make it work really well. Of course, i guess anything can be made to work, lol

Right? Marijuana policies are so god damned antiquated at this point. Obviously for some professions it makes sense from a liability standpoint, but who the fuck cares if a machinist or data entry clerk smokes pot? Whatever.

I hear ya, just put the bitch out in the middle of the damn street and take a pic. I never had a chance to ride, nor see bikes like that in my area back in the day. So, what year is that?

It's a 1980 KX420. I think Kawi dropped it the following year.

It is a 1981 KX 420-A2 the 1980 had a box section swing arm similar to modern MX bikes. The 81 models had a forged swing arm The biggest issue with the 80 and 81 model Uni-Track suspension is the design actually created a falling rate. The read end got softer deep into the stroke.
