A disgrace to supercross

Edited Date/Time 10/9/2016 8:06am
After watching the racing last I thought the event was a total sham and it showed in the attendance.
The track was very poor just a indoor sand track,no proper rythem,no whoops and the wrong dirt. I've seen better rthyem sections on mxgp tracks. Let's hope ys wakes up to the fact that they have lost so much money and sort it out if they do it again. Not impressed!

Super 'Motocross' Cup. It was never advertised as Supercross.

It was always going to be a damp squib, but at the same time I guess you have to start somewhere.

Edit: I'm not convinced they should even be trying to start!

Racing was good, I enjoyed it. Camera work was terrible.

No, because it wasn`t supposed to be supercross. It`s a riders and manufacturers cup that was held in a stadium.

Track seemed like a semi-sandy, small arenacross with no whoops and longer lap times...

And Gasjer seemed to have every crash I expected him to have this year in one night.

Also, I definitely think 3 starts in a night adds some interest. Herlings had a bad, good and ok start, and it changed everything each time.

X2, it's like some folks just can't get it into their head that it was NEVER supposed to be supercross.

Thats why he typed it in the color of kool-aid.

I paid for it so i helped YS recover some of the money they lost in attendance. I dont get the obsession with sand races it might be fun to ride in but piling a bunch of sand where it shouldnt be just isnt interesting to me, its like lazy track design. Anyway not as good as i was hoping, but the MEC usually ist either.

I'm glad I saved my money on the live stream. Not impressed. Did anybody mention that the track looked nothing like Supercross?

The only reason Youthstream didn't call it a "Supercross" is because Field Entertainment in the U.S. owns the name. Hence we got "Super Motocross".

That the track was so poor, in my opinion equal to a fair ground track is merely a coincidence.

The track didn't have a U.S. Supercross equivalent Whoop section because Youthstream wanted their GP riders to be competitive. Plus none of the off season Supercross races have real Whoop sections either. Not even the Monster Cup.

Wasn't quite sure what to make of it really.... don't know if it was me just thinking it but was the track abit sketchy/ dangerous looking even? Gajser and Dunge nearly flipped right over the front I noticed and the dirt looked kind of very soft and pulled you in different directions from where you intended possibly. Herlings also was getting really chucked about in places.
May have just been me imagining it, but it sort of looked like a few riders were having some quite close calls out there, more than other tracks possibly?

Honest question for those in Europe: Would you have been more likely to attend the SMX Cup if it were a proper Supercross event? By that, I mean track, format, riders.

That track kicked ass! Probably the closest thing we'll ever see of modern pros racing on a 80's style vintage track.

Track was great. If it'd been hard pack then it would've been boring and needed something extra imo, but come the actual race and I warmed to it significantly. Obviously no substitute for the real deal but OK for a fun event. Racing was also great. Only thing that stunk was the attendance.

I haven't seen it yet, and don't care if it was or wasn't, I like dirt bike racing no matter the surface or discipline. But I thought it was supposed to be supercross, just watching all the post from the euro riders they were all riding supercross tracks getting ready. Even before those post I guess I just thought it was going to be a sx race. Perhaps others did as well and that's why they are butt hurt.

Ive got to add to this since nobody on hear knows a damn thing about motorcycle racing.

The word SUPERCROSS was coined because they were bringing motocross into a stadium. They needed a new word and supercross was it.

So now you are telling me that there is an event in Germany that is brining motocross into a stadium and it is NOT suprecross.

I know they cannot use the word supercross because it is now patented so they used the words super motocross, which we all know what they were trying to say.

When the race arrives, after everyone is expecting a SUPERCROSS race, and the track is a total joke and rigged so if any Americans show up they wont blow the international riders off the map, we cannot say anything.

SO KONGOLS, why did they put the word SUPER in the title of the race, if it was not suppose to be supercross,
WHY DIDNT THEY JUST CALL IT "INDOOR MOTOCROSS"

Track sucked, event was a joke........and you know it.
