1. Pull into Hotel parking have apparent Valet come up and ask for $10 for a parking sticker. I only have $100, that's okay I got change. Hand $100. Bum with stolen Valet tickets and vest hauls ass with the $100. Hotel to bad He doesn't work for us you were ripped off.

2. leave bikes in Van and stay at shitty down town Motel , wake up no bikes and no Van = Chris Whitcraft

also happened to Peters I think too a year or so later.

Atlanta = nice place with some real cool people and some real shitty ones too.

I loved my visit there in 2002 and 2004. Brilliant city.

Getting off the plane or stopping in Atlanta sounds like a bad idea.

What you guys missed is that the real citizens of the city of Atlanta moved 20-30 miles north well over twenty years ago. It's nice and safe up here. A place of beauty.

The stadium is left sitting in the downtown area. Nothing but bankers lawyers and other forms of riffraff left downtown primarily due to taxes and politics. Soon the braves will move to the suburbs as well. I expect the other sports venues will follow.

It is actually an excellent city to make a flight connection in the winter time as it doesn't deal with weather nearly as much as Chicago O'Hare or JFK does.

A few years ago a friend of ours got his van stolen from the hotel....luckily the bike wasn't in the van but they went straight to a bank and hooked a chain to a atm machine and took off with it.....the cameras were on the van with his name and bike number on the back.Needless to say he had a warrant out for him when he got home.

If Atlanta didn't have an AMA Supercross race at the Georgia Dome, their would be no reason for me to ever visit that city.

...anyone who leaves anything in metro ATL and expects it to be there the next morning is a fool, secure area or not. Its been that way for as long as Ive been going there. Somebody who parks at a Fleabag hotel with a trailer full of bikes and gear had better be fully insured.

The only place worse is the Baltimore DC area.

no, actually Atlanta Airport is actually quite awesome, it has Everything, including an Apple Vending machine that spits out iPads and MacBooks. Great hotel in the terminal too.

Its when you leave the airport and go out into the city itself that shit can go bad, I always try to stay 20 or 30 miles out of the metro area in the burbs, lots of nice people there.

the hotel I am staying at has 1 entrance and they check the ID of everyone coming in and out. I freaked the 1st time I stayed here but figure its more secure than the big high rises that have bikes disappear every year from.

Ditto for just about every city in the southeast these day unfortunately. Our shop is in the Memphis metro area. If you travel in the south and get of an exit in a metro area and you feel uneasy..trust your instincts and get back on the freeway...quickly. If I am in an unfamiliar city I look for the exits with the Mercedes dealerships.

By all means though you guys in Atlanta should check out the bar scene in Buckhead. 90% of Atlanta is a really cool place.

Lol..Lenny my race rig is a 99 E-450 box van that is super nice on the inside but it has the 15 yo work van patina on the outside. There is a reason for that.

Ahhhhh.....Hotlanta as my friends and I know it........

All of you who think it's a fun, safe, "BRILLIANT" city....are obviously tourists (and didn't get jacked with, you are darn lucky)

(and Buckhead has a bunch of really good bars.....and thugs too)

Atlanta ranks right up there with Mexico in my book (and that's a whole 'nother book of ugly stories).....

Ugh

The Broner Brother's hair show is this weekend in Atlanta so don't make any off hand comments about weaves.
