A lot of talk about how ugly the A-Star gear is this year that Barcia and Tomac have been wearing. Just thought I'd start a thread about it to get peoples thoughts and especially pics of all the different sets.

I thought this one was especially bad

The set he wore in Houston looked really good, I thought.

Back in 2006, Alpinestars made the nicest looking gear out there (in my opinion, of course). So, I'm a little bummed to see the direction that they have gone recently. But, then again, the stuff that Herlings wears is still pretty sharp.

One thing for sure...the AStar stuff gets attention, and maybe that's what they're after. It's easy to pick Barcia out on the track, especially in that jersey with the "twinkling" chrome stars on it.

I like it because it reminds me of the gear that was out in the late 80s and early 90s. those florescent colors were everywhere. (the shiny stars on the pic in the OP are a little too much though lol)

I have owned 2 pair of the Techstar Gear. All of which I had to import from Dirtbikebitz.com. I love the Alpinestar gear. Great fit and great quality. Cant wait till they sell it here. I will be buying 2 sets!

I really like it. It's unique and very few riders wear it. I also like how Barcia has a unique setup with gear, helmet, goggles etc. Dude's one of a kind.

I'm personally not a fan of the design. I like the more simple gear that Reed and Stewart have been sporting.

Barcia's gear is just too busy and I can't tell what is going on with it. It just looks like a clusterfuck of shapes and colors thrown at the pants and jersey.

Ha!

Best of the bunch? The camo/dayglow setup that Barcia had in Atlanta.

I thought Barcia's camo setup was cool, and not overdone.

Guy B comes thru again, thanks for the pic. I've been wanting to see that gear, but Barcia crashed out before we got a good look at it. it's the only A-Star stuff I like so far.

How about some REAL camo like some were wearing to honor the Armed Forces, instead of that redneck-chic Mossy Oak crap? I could see Villopoto wearing that because he's a legitimate hunter and outdoorsman...but Barcia? Nah...

I wonder what some custom gear for Vital MX posters would look like...

I'd imagine we could get davis a dunce hat to start. Barcia must just be posing as a legitimate hunter here.

What's weird is, as bad as they've been this year, they had some great, like maybe the nicest stuff on track, the last few years.

Someone in Italy has had too much coffee and not enough sleep.

I just figured A-Stars had signed a deal with Feld to supply Ringling Brothers with clown suits and they had some left over or something...

Did Astars ever quit making jersey and pants for a while? Because I remember some Alpine dudes switching to Fox and it not being in MvA Reflex(lol), just curious.
