Low Testosterone can also be a result from heavy pain killer use. But you say you are 50. When was your last head ringer? Also, prescript Testosterone can make your nuts shrink just like regular roids.

uhhhh he is 50 with a double digit test count.... they only shrink a bit when a healthy adult male that has free test in the 300-600 range abuses synthetic test or anabolic steroids. This is the bodies natural reaction of trying to maintain homeostasis by not producing the test on its own in the gonads when synthetic is present... thats why they shrink a bit and why you should cycle on and off to allow the body to rebuild its own natural test level.... but this is not of concearn to a middle aged man with as low a test count as he has.

Yes there several known causes for low testosterone that the doctors explored. I raced MX from 1970 to 1980 and later kayaked class4-5 rivers for another ten years. My last head ringer was close to ten years ago.Tipped over in a eddy while waiting on others, smacking my head on a boulder.(Kayakings' version of a goon move). I've lived off Ibuprofen for thirty years.Tore up both knees racing and then jammed them into a little plastic boat for another ten years.Testical shrinkage had already occured before I began the injections. So many varibles and everyone being different makes things hard to diagnose.

I am nearly 40 and was in the double digits and it happened quickly from 600. Anyway, my point is YES cycle if you do not want your nuts to shrink permently. My doc gave me Andro-Gel and I told him after a couple of months that one (only one) of my nuts was shrinking. He said no way. So I stayed the course and it became Jelly Belly instead of the billiard ball I was used to.Cool I read about permenent shrinkage so I stopped. I don't care what age you are, if you still have women inspecting your ball bag in the height of pleasure, you don't want them asking if you had one removed like Lance Armstrong. Test can become a necessity but do it the right way. Make sure you have a doc that knows what he/she is doing. Like I said, I'm not even 40 but I have had at least 10 concussions with 3 uncon for 1-2 min. So maybe that is the reason. Nice thread Fiber. Oh, yes the nut did come back to almost full size after I stopped. I read that useage over 3 months shrinkage can be permenent.

I'll tell you what.. You may not have any testosterone but you have a huge set of balls. It takes a lot of balls to tell this board you can't produce testoserone..Very usefull info though.

billiard ball.... that was good!!!

im right there with you on age and I have probably had 3 good concussions and 1 Uncon for about 3-5 minutes from riding/racing. I still work out a lot and road cycle every night about 10 - 15 miles and never seem to be able to drop below 200lbs anymore, and always seem tired.... im going to go get a test panel done to see where i am at!!!!

Nobhead, I am curious about the outcome of your treatments.Where you able to regain normal levels on your own? Both the endocrinologists that I have seen as well as a naturopathic specialist have told me that once the signal from the pituitary gland shuts down, your only option is shots, patches or pellets.Other insights would be very much appreciated. DanDunes and Level,Thank you for your comments. When I was first told that I may have a testosterone issue,my first thought was no way.Been married for twenty-eight years, have three kids and have had a great sex life. I made the mistake of thinking that testosterone only affected your sex life, when in reality it controls so much more. My brain was in a complete fog,it took all the energy I had to get out of a chair or go up a flight of stairs. I was just mentally and physicaly a wreck. My level is up around the nine-hundred level now with pellet implants.Night and day difference. I made this post in the hope that it might be helpfull to someone who is feeling miserable and have no idea why.
TeamGRNRacer, Be sure to have a good endocrinologist do your work-up if possible. There is a website that does a good job of explaining the issue. It is www.hormonesynergy.com. I'm sorry, I do not know how to post links.

Dosing to reach a normal range does nothing to your testicle size.

But here's a caveat to anyone thinking they should try to get a low number back up.....prostate cancer LOVES testosterone. Endogenous, or exogenous (your own, or that which you take/inject). As you age, the level will trend down, and that may be exactly what you want it to do. As you age, the likelihood of any male having occult prostate CA climbs right up, and feeding it exogenous testosterone ain't too good an idea.

If I was anywhere near a normal level, I'd forgo supplements, and just check the level pretty often to see if it's falling off too fast.

Your mileage may vary.

I am here to tell you, you are absolutely wrong. I was dosing and barely reaching 300 and my right was definetely shrank. I'm telling you. As long as you stay on the "outside" testoserone your nuts can shrink. They don't need to produce so they shrink.

Thank you Doc for that info. I'll be discussing the prostate issue with my endocrinologist soon.I'm surprised it was not brought up before.Have you given the AF500 another go yet?Hope you are all healed up.

bustphat...glad to hear that things are going well for you. For me,the fatigue aspect was miserable, but the depression, mental fog and memory loss were far worse. Like you,I have spent the better part of a decade dealing with these issues and hope shedding some light on them will help others avoid the long drawn out process we encountered.Wish you and your freind(ex-NFL player) the best.Smile

No more 500 for me....it's for sale though! Only three rides! I even sold the 450 and became a 125 rider. Less temptation to do the big gaps....

Nob, I'm surprised with sub-physiologic dosages that you had that much "shrinkage." Won't argue with your experience, although it typically takes larger doses to see this side effect.

Okay i have all these symptoms and a few extra, been knocked out so many times I lost count. I always blamed it on getting old, so what kind of doctor should i see first? Can I go straight to a endocrinologist or do i need to get referred? To tell you the truth if i could feel better, I'd be glad to walk around with small nuts, mine are to big anyway, they hit the water when i sit down, i hate that crap.
