Lately I've been really digging the looks of the mid ninety's Kawasaki SR125's and 250's. I am trying to get some inspiration for some custom graphic for my KXF that are a tribute to the 90's. Considering a blue/purple seat and flo-green frame. I'd be really grateful if anyone has pics of pro's bikes from the 90's era. I've included some pics that I've saved on my hard drive to show what I've got so far. Seems like there are a haitus of pics from 1992 til 1998 when PC took over. Thank you all !

I don't have any pics, but have seen quite a few floating around. PC joined Kawasaki in 93, after leaving Honda. The 94-98 Gen KX's are works of art, but look terribly bloated in this day and age. The 94 with stock graphics is really good looking and I believe Reynard rode the 94 it w/ the stock graphics in Terrafirma I. 95 was the checker graphics on the shroud and I believe 96 was the purple shrouds. I remember not liking to the purple at the time, but that could have been due to the fact that the 125 was absolutely gutless. Count me in for missing the cartoon generation designs of the mid-9O's , I guess what you grew up with was cool.

the 97 model had checkers
The #22 bike is Tallon Vohlands bike from 2001.
Personally I liked the 98 graphics the best, and those were replicas of Emigs 96works bike, minus the purple seat. I think that would be cool to try to adapt to a modern bike Smile

I've had multiple KX125s, and would love to have another one, specifically a 95 - 97. There were faster bikes, but the KX was simply the best IMO. I think the top one is a little later than a '99, but still the same plastic.

I always loved the look of the 90's KX's.

The works bikes and PC bikes were also nice looking machines.

Absolutely brilliant idea, I can't wait to see the results pCp 252. This whole thread takes me right back, I loved the look of the 90's bikes. Not all Pro bikes but for possible inspiration -

1996 KX 125 stock. Maybe a little too much purple here lol, but got to love the chequered flag shroud decals...

1995 stock

Tortelli. Interesting blue/green combo on the seat -

99 Pro Circuit look with the giant spark plug. Love it! -

If I wanna remember what a mid-90s KX (at least the 125 I rode) I'll stuff a rag in the airbox and break both my footpeg springs then go burn some laps.

I thought those 1990 KX's were so cool looking back then. I was racing 80's Super Mini back then and decided to just keep my 1989 KX80 Big Wheel for another year, but always loved the look of those bikes for that era.

I always liked how the '99up KX's had the shrouds that flowed through into the number plates. The Chevy Trucks graphic'd versions of them were so awesome

Im not one for vintage bikes, but the 96's thru 99's were just the way a bike was supposed to look. When a kid thinks "dirtbike" that purple and green pop into their head.

I started racing on a 96 KX80. That was the coolest thing in the world back then. Just loved the combination of purple, pink, and yellow.

94 thru 98 had the same basic design. 99 was a big design change that went till 2002.

I have been thinking a lot lately about buying an older bike, and rebuilding it. looking at these really makes me want to buy an 01 or so KX125, and rebuild it.

Here is my 95 KX 250...which BTW...I bought from Factory Kawasaki...went to the shop to pick it up Dec. 95. They were working on the 96 race bikes in the shop, preparing them for the Perris SX Invitational. Anyway, the bike is actually MX-Keidrowski's practice bike, and the motor is LaRacco's SX motor from the 94 or 95 season(as by the etching 'SR-7' on the cylinder.) The bike had a lot of bottom end and was a rocket! As you expect, the frame was beefed up at all the welds. I still have the bike to this day and from time to time I will bring it out to race. It's not as fast as it once was, but it's a blast!
In 1996:

In 1998...I think the best graphics I had on her:

In 09...after rebuilding her:

I just picked up some purple shrouds and I'm going to throw some evo 96 graphics on them for in the garage. I'll do a full bike one day
