I live 1 mile from it. Been racing there since 1981.

It's a hell of a place and I love it!! Dave does such an awesome job of building that track. It truly is a special place.

One other cool thing : since it's on road course ( Vanport ) surrounds the Mx track...I hear the sweet sounds of road course cars on early Saturday and Sunday mornings. Best sound ever to wake to.

That's awesome to see - cant wait to see the full doc.

Here's an old shot of me at PIR back in 1980 on one my old 50's...
The place sure has changed a lot over the years.
I can still remember when they used to have Monday practices out there...I think it was only $1.00 to practice in the late 1970's & early 80's.Then they upped it to $5.00 in the mid 1980's.
By the looks of the dry track in this pic,I think that's when it was taken - during Monday practice.

You guys remember a fast dude on a KX named Del Latham? he is one of my Uncles- I grew up in those pits.

Jeffro- when I moved back to Portland from Kauai I lived in one of the floating home communities on Hayden Island. I could hear everything running on the road course as well. Loved hearing that bounce off the water in the mornings...You could tell the classes of the bikes by the engine noise- open twins, open superbike, vintage,...so rad Cool

We race there a ton but sorry to say it's kinda going downhill these last few years. Very few track changes and small turnouts in anything above JR class. Luck if you have a gate of 5 in INT.
Maybe this year will be different & I hope so as it's a heck of a place to race......................
