He said in another interview that the Showas were great in certain situations, particularly that they didn't ever really bottom out. The KYBs, however, made the bike more stable in choppy conditions like braking bumps. The question now becomes, will the KYBs also be better for Supercross? Sounds to me like the traits he liked from the Showas are more important in SX than what he liked about the KYBs. If the KYBs give up control in high G situations in exchange for control in choppy stuff, that's great for outdoors but not suitable for supercross.
I don't know. Maybe with enough testing they can get the KYBs to perform better for SX as well. I hope so. If TC41 wins the SX championship next year I'll be going nuts.
