Hey, you guys talk like blocking is not a skill. Alessi put on one of the greatest defensive rides I have ever seen today. That's a part of racing, and he did a damn good job of it today and beat Ryan straight up.

When that same guy in second wins by 31 seconds in the second Moto, then yes, he was blocked for 30+2.

There's no doubt he was blocked, you could see him slamming on the brakes to keep from running into the back of Mike. \\That's part of racing but I'd be pretty upset if I was Dungey. Not to mention it looked to me like some of Dungey's issues may have had something to do with Alessi drifting over in the air to block and swerving around the track.

Good job to Alessi though, I hope he gains some confidence and is able to run with the top guys like he used to.

Agreed and I give it up to Alessi for not cracking under pressure....my post is for all the tards who claimed Dungey got "spanked" and "was not blocking" and "Dungey attitude", etc...I'm not arguing that Alessi didn't do a good job of blocking to win that moto. RD was smart to be very cautious to pass considering you never know what 800 might do.

Do the tards expect Dungey to pull over after the moto and say "hey Mike, congrats for successfully blocking my ass for 35min"...not going to happen. RD gave him a thumbs up like a true champion, and that was more than enough.

You have to remember RD is thinking championship....why would he force the issue on someone so sketchy who might brake check, push kill switch, grab your front brake lever, push you wide into the crowd??? Not worth it. Just be cautious and get the job done in moto2 and win by 31.45 seconds.

Bingo. But I do have to say (and this is coming from a Dungey fan) I believe Villopoto would have put Alessi on the ground before he let that happen. All this crossing lines and cutting over in the air that Alessi is doing is going to get someone killed.

Agreed and as president of the Dungey fanboy club, I must say it's frustrating lol. RV or even JS dispose of the riders in front of them in quick fashion. I would even throw BB in there as a master passer. Dunge just doesn't force the issue. It doesn't matter if he takes his time when it's just one guy ahead of him. But if there was a couple, he can't afford to be patient. Pretty soon he's going to have 4 guys lining up against him of equal speed. What then? At least his starts are consistently good so he doesn't have to pass much

as i mentioned in the race thread, some of you should go back and watch 06 RC vs JS at Shougal, RC tried everything he could and finally had to just punt James off the track, he even apologized after the moto saying there was no other way around on this track. Shoulgal has always been tough to pass on, and Mikey makes it ever more difficult.

All in all it made for a really damn exciting race! a helluva lot more exciting than the 2nd moto. Kudos to Mikey for the W, and all the sweeter for dong it in MCR's backyard (so to speak)

Knee surgeries have come a looonnggg way in the last few years.. Just look take football players for example, used to mean a dude was done for good, nowadays they can come back nearly as strong as before, pretty incredible...

Alessi was doing something shocking....racing. I really don't get it even after the explanation. I remember one race where I was putting my whole bike across the corner in every corner for the whole race to make sure that kid didn't get around me who was much faster than me and you know what? He never got around me and I'm damn proud of it.

Mike rode hard, and did what he had to win a national... The only way he can.

Ryan rode smart and did what he thought best for the Championship.

Would Chad, RV or James have done the same thing? Who knows, and it really doesn't matter.

While I would have enjoyed Ryan getting around Mike any way possible, they both did what they had to do..

It would be so much better if they just let each guy run 30+2 alone on the track, then we could see who is truly the fastest. It's so annoying to watch the guys try to have to pass each other.

Also, since Alessi is already back 80 points in the series he should just give up. If he doesn't want to give up, then he should ride over his head to try to catch Dungey and not worry about crashing out of the series or ending his career.

Jeff, I have a huge amount of respect for you and everyone out there. What you all can do on a motorcycle is amazing! And no offense, but he could say the same thing to you... This is a public forum, people discuss motocross. If only people that have won nationals are allowed to voice their opinions then it kind of defeats the purpose.

I'm amazed how people are saying Dungey rode smart. The guy got flustered, crashed, and nearly kamikaze piloted his KTM into a crowed of spectators. All evidence indicates he was super pissed out there.

Congrats to Alessi for his moment in the sun but we all saw in moto 2 whats really up. Will anyone care to expand on the story about MA pressing someones kill switch? I've not heard that one about Mikey.
