2018 Atlanta SX?

I'm hoping this is just rumor but I've heard there may not be a supercross in Atlanta next year. Sources say the new facility does not want motorized vehicle races in their new "Dome".

"Lets just say as of right now, there are no signed contacts for future SX in Atlanta's new facility."

That's not good. Well if Atlanta is gone then Charlotte needs to step up.

You are correct. No ATL SX 2018, unless something changes.

Charlotte would be awesome! But we already have a MXGP....

If that's the case, say goodbye to the southeast round of SX unless New Orleans or Jacksonville host again. I know Charlotte won't do it because B of A stadium is owned by the Panthers, which is a shame because that stadium would be perfect for SX. Charlotte has the MXGP because of Bruton Smith and the people at Charlotte Motor Speedway. A Supercross race would be in the Panthers stadium and that would be a different group of people. The MXGP race won't stop Charlotte from hosting SX as well, the Panthers stadium is just tough to get events that don't involve a ball.

Yeah no kidding.. Talk about a staple in sx..

I can understand having a new stadium not wanting to cause any damage but, does this type of event cause damage?

Also anyone know what kinds field will be installed?

They mentioned it on the broadcast last week that next weekend would be "the last in the dome".

Heard that but I assumed they referring to the old dome. I can't see them not working this out. Big loss if they don't

Atlanta has one of the biggest crowds. No way they won't figure it out. Orlando had low turnouts

New baseball facility is opening this season (I think) on the north side of town... might be an option. Place is huge and in a better, safer location IMO

Oh well, move it to Nashville. Or Vol Stadium in Knoxville. In fact, screw SX, just race during the day at Monster. That would be awesome.

Charlotte would be awesome. maybe just maybe z max could host SX. Seating would be great, the pits would be awesome. I didnt like z max for the MXGP but of SX i think it would work.

The only problem with the new Braves field (SunTrust Park) is that it's outdoors and the weather down this way in February is unpredictable as hell. Cold Temps don't make for a great Supercross crowd.

I have a hard time believing that Supercross will stay away from Atlanta. That round is consistently a huge crowd. Lots of Revenue for the city.

Doubt they will hold SX there ever. The Dome will work it out most likely.

My wifes friend just bought permanent seats in the new dome and apparently part of the sales pitch was supercross and monster jam.

Permanent seats, in a brand new stadium, for every event there forever. I can't imagine the price tag on something like that

I think they basically sell them like real estate or maybe it's a yearly lease, not really sure. It's more for the those with above average income though lol. It's also probably the main reason tickets cost so much too because all the ball sport lovers own the seats (good ones at least) and supercross is the time they try and make some of there money back scalping them on Ticketmaster.

I love moto and I love the Falcons, but if they take my supercross they lose a customer from both aspects. I'll take what money I save and haul ass to Daytona if need be.

We are looking for Tickets as a company currently.

The ticket prices are not that bad but the price for Football only plus $3000 for the next 30 Years.

Cost is Season tickets plus one time $3000.
Any additional event will be charged extra and you can by your seats for almost any event.
Just a few exceptions like super bowl or college football.

The $3000 can be paid in 10 Years.

I was thinking if they took it from the Dome they could hold it at Turner Field, figured Georgia State would want help paying for that Stadium, however, yes, the weather here in February is unpredictable. There has been too many years its been rainy and cold outside.

As for selling seats at the new Dome, I could see them using SX and Monster Jam as a selling point and then not having the event..probably would puss off the seat holders but if they have you locked in for a ten year plan they might not care... especially if the City is helping pay for the new facility.

I guess we will know by this time next year!

No way Supercross leaves the ATL. Consistently one of the largest draws on the tour.

No way in hell would they allow SX in Neyland stadium. I have been doing some work there, and watched them tend to the grass. They get all uptight when their grass gets messed up. They are proud of that stadium for sure, I guess as bad as the Vols suck, they have to have something to be proud of.
