Possibly. I went back to 2-strokes a few years ago and I enjoy them more than the thumper.
Same here. Was so bored and lazy on the 4T that it was literally either time to leave the sport or return to the 2T.

Any news if they fixed the trans on the 17's? Rode a buddies 17 250sxf and it was the best stock bike Ive ever ridden.

Well the 250 2-stroke's tranny is different from any other KTM tranny (other than a 300) so unless anyone here has actual experience with an SX250 blowing gears, everything you hear is about a different component entirely.

I'm in line for the 250,,but if a TC125 showed up first and it was a 'deal'.. I could get a weak moment and take it. I'm 5'5" 150lbs. I race older 125s/250s with equal passion. The horsepower the latest 125s/144s from KTM and husky make probably rival my older 250s. I don't think I'd be disappointed power wise. It's reliability I'm concerned about. Last newer 125 I had was 04 RM125,,,it was bulletproof and current owner still racking up hours on it. Would be shame if the TC125 failed a tranny for a intermediate rider in a few months. I appreciate any feedback from 2016-17 TC125 owners as well as the 17 250s.
I have just put 45hrs on my 2017 tc250 got it about 7 months ago. Im putting a new piston in asap.
( 120lbs wet!! 22yrs 5.6")
The suspension couldn't get no better and the reliability of this bike is awesome, except plugs
I have an 01 rm250 with the works, full hension clutch reeds aftermarket carb ect.. the tc250 came with plenty more than what i could have ever built outa my rm.
After running 30 of thoes hrs in hair scrambles
Allso some moto practice. The one air fork hookup makes so much sense rides smooth if in check every day at least and hand operated damping, rebound adjustable clickers work like magic on the go.
After fiddling with the engine performance springs supplied with the bike. You can find any adjustment sutted to the rider and the day ahead.

NO PROBLEMS YET WITH TRANSMISSION

Cons:

the rear brake spring and the header (pipe) spring
Broke fast and some bearings was not greased as id like.

Maybe think about the 300
